Somewhere in Time (1980). It was my step-father's favorite. I think it was more for Jane Seymour, than the time travel, though.

As for movie all the movies mention before I'll have to agree with but Back To The Future takes the cake.
I remember that show!!! Was it the one with the guy and the kid that traveled with him?

I remember the one where they went to the last night of the Titanic and the kid wanted to change history and the guy wouldn't let him. (Youre gonna have to forgive me but I dont remember their names in the show or for real lol. It was a long time ago)

The Time Machine (2002) and the Back to the Future trilogy are probably my favorite time travel movies. There are several others that I really like as well though (most have been mentioned already).

+1 for Donnie Darko, just because it treats the subject, in theory, fairly accurately, although the idea of time travel itself is a big ol' mess. Terminator has some huge logic holes, but it's a good movie. Back to the Future and the rest are fun.

Sure they did, they went to the end of the universe and end up at the caveman days on Earth, setting the tone for all of future mankind to solve the ultimate question of life the universe and everything.

there was also a show called "7 Days" or something like that (a few years back, maybe the 90's) , the guy was military and when something nasty would happen, an enquiry would be held, he would be given all the info available and then sent back in time (7 days- the max the could go back) where he would have to put the rest of the puzzle together and stop the incident from happening. I don't remember much else but just that at the time the "7 day" limit just sounded dumb (i.e. why not go back 7 days give info to past self and then get him to go back 7 days. Obviously there could be a definite limite (for example you could not go more then 7 days before the device was built because your past self can't go back.)

PS I think it was 7 days

also Déjà vu for movies
