Hate the theatrical version due to all the gore that got cut, I prefer the extended or the European cut.

Perhaps there should be an England vs Puerto Rico playoff to see who gets the title? There'd be a nice historical irony there though, that of England being swallowed up by its own former colony: "the son becomes the father and the father, the son".

I just wonder what the heck he's trying to charge. I can only imagine something in the 500k+ range, like previously suggested, considering he's sitting on a 6 million hole.

How much do companies usually make on a blu-ray release per disc sold? I mean, after factoring in paying for the packaging design, the special features, the actual pressing, the cases, Amazon's large cut of the profit, etcetcetc I can't imagine a regular release would clear more than like 10 bucks per. I have no idea, though, maybe the costs of production, design and features are incredibly low and thus would quickly be absorbed, and maybe our benevolent Amazon overlords don't take much of anything. BUT, if I'm right, and they had to pay 500k, they'd have to sell what, 50,000 units to break even? Maybe that would have been possible back in 2004!!! I guess if they go the Nightbreed route and charge 70 dollars per and sell 10,000 maybe it could be feasible.

I hope he's not charging that much, but given his apparent idiocy, I wouldn't be surprised if it's even MORE than that.

Not trying to get political but Republicans will never let Puerto Rico in, they're too poor and not-White. You guys would be perfect though! We could do England, Wales and Scotland as three states at once! Hat trick!

You'll have to ditch the Queen thing though.

That might be also true, but the main reason PR is not a state yet is that their residents voted against it at least twice.

Geoff, if you like key lime, you must try these patties. I've only ever found them in Florida airports, but I'm sure you can order them:

LOL. How do you explain the fact that non-white immigration into the US has only increased with each Republican administration?

That's what the last couple pages were about before people started arguing about immigration, but thanks

That last vote was so poorly structured I don't think it means anything. In any event I wasn't saying it was a racial reason specifically keeping them out, but more that there is no incentive for Republicans to approve it because they'd be spending a ton of money to add a ton of Democratic voters. I don't think it ever happens until that changes. The UK, hypothetically, would not unbalance our current divides (though a ton of UK Conservatives would be considered Liberals here!).

Anyway sorry for the off-topic, I knew right after I wrote that it was stupid. Should have deleted. It was all a joke anyway, the UK obviously would never even consider the idea.

Really? When did that happen? I just ordered it from JB Hi-Fi about two weeks ago (for only 18.87 AUD including shipping) and got a shipping notice about a week ago. If this is true, I guess I timed it just right.

Thanks for that! It's been on my Amazon wishlist for a while, but I kept putting it off. I went to take a look just now and it's no longer available. Couldn't find it on eBay or JB Hi-Fi either, but I was able to snag a copy from Amazon UK at a reasonable price.

I just received my JB-Hifi order today. I discovered that I ordered the 2004 version! That'll teach me not to research what the cover art looks like. The cover looked like "generic zombie face" and didn't look like either version to me, so I just clicked "buy" without thinking since it didn't say 2004 on the search page, and the cover of the disc didn't give any hint it was the 2004 version (well, other than the zombie not remotely resembling anything in the 1978 version, of course!!). There was a "director's cut" notice at the top that was barely readable in the tiny thumbnail, but I should have noticed. So yeah, the 1978 one was not available at the time of my order, false alarm here! It may have been OOP for quite a while, for all I know.

It's a good thing I didn't already own the 2004 version, or I might be mad at myself! As is, I'm just annoyed that the 1978 one is OOP. Guess I'll keep hoping Mr. Rights Idiot releases it from his clutches.

Mine came to about $24 including shipping. It's more than you paid for the 2004 version, but nowhere near the usual OOP prices.

The old Anchor Bay US disc can be had for around $20 on ebay if you wait for someone to do an auction rather than buy it now. That's what I did a while back. Not an amazing disc obviously but fine as a holdover until we get something better.
