I'm sure its nothing but rumors and people just spreading stuff. Hopefully in a way that gets Singer in trouble and not involved with the series.

I know some people have been very vocal on him and his involvement of the series.

I don't know, but it sounds like a pretty harsh accusation, and it's coming from an actor in a current TV series.

Could this person really be a fan that wants Singer off the X-Men movies or trying to get the rights given back to Marvel? I don't know about that.

Or maybe he's mad he wasn't invited to join the cast... or the party?

Who knows? But it sucks for Singer and his fans, because unfortunately it perpetuates a prejudice against him as a filmmaker. Regardless of whether you like his movies or not, or whether it's actually true or not, it'll still be used against his work.

What actor is this? He a known actor? Or a unknown one?

I wouldn't put it past someone if they didn't get a role and was mad.

I'm sure there are a ton of folks who would do anything to get the X-Men rights reverted back to Marvel. Along with FF and Deadpool too.

Hollywood is known to have an "inner circle" when it comes to this stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if Singers involved. The more people who come forward and accuse him of something, the more likely it'll be true.

Nevertheless, he made some amazing X-men movies but it's time for him to move on and let someone else take the reign.

If you think people are accusing Singer of sexual assault because they want the rights to revert back to Marvel... you're delusional.

This guy's show is on ABC, who is owned by Disney, who also owns Marvel. Could this be a way of hurting Fox? Let the conspiracy theories and speculation begin! lol.

I never even heard of the little DB or his show. But that is some serious stuff there. I mean especially the way he worded it. Serious defamation of character. Can't Singer sue him for saying something like that?

Could be. Or could just be he's mad he didn't get a part in a movie, and feels this is a way of payback. I mean to not say stuff couldn't happen. But all has been quiet for about 2 years, and now suddenly this twit says stuff like that. Makes you wonder.

I've recently been watching the movies in chronological order (First Class, Origins, X1-3, Wolverine, DOFP), and I've found that the story actually flows pretty well in this order. By watching the movies in chronological order, it puts Wolverine front and center for the majority of it, and it spaces out First Class and DOFP. We first see Mystique in First Class where at the end she goes with Magnento, and 30 or so years pass before we see her again in the first X-Men. It makes sense that after spending all this time working with Magneto, that she would be the villain we know from the original trilogy. DOFP mentions how Magneto set her on the path of becoming who she was, but by the end, Charles gets her to go on a different path.

So, in my opinion, it makes sense that she would do things differently after the events of DOFP. Originally, she was captured and experimented on, and that fueled her hatred for humans. Since none of that happened, her future should change.

I think that the trailers for X-Men Apocalypse were a bit misleading. Mystique wasn't really an X-Man in that movie. She was on her own, but after Apocalypse attacked the mansion and took Charles, it was up to just a handful of kids to stop an immortal mutant who was determined to destroy the world. Sure, Hank could have lead the team, but it made sense that Mystique would try to help the remaining X-Men defeat Apocalypse. She didn't become an X-Man until the end of the movie.

And I'm okay with how it played out. Sure, Mystique has always been a villain in the comics, but the movies aren't the comics. And villains have become X-Men in the comics. For example, Emma Frost went from being a villain to leading an X-Men team with Banshee (Generation X).
Dude, that's an awesome viewing order! Reminds me of the guy who created Machete order for Star Wars. I'll have to give it a try.

Oh, and Mystique actually has been a good guy in the comics, at least somewhat. For a period of time in the 90's she was in X-Factor when Forge was leading the team. I think she was still a bit iffy and unpredictable, but she kinda tried at least

Yeah, who would believe such a thing - that someone who generally wants Singer off the films would be accusing Singer of sexual assault? That's just crazy talk!

I honestly do not understand the love for the Machete order, nor where that name comrs from. Where's the harm in watching 456123?

Now that Singer is taking a break from the franchise, who should do the next one? I really want to see more of the new cast but I'm trying to figure out who'd be a good choice for director on it.

Bring back Matthew Vaughn or another director who is good with large ensemble casts. Not many of them out there, though.

I'm really iffy on Matthew Vaughn. If he was just on for directing duties and Kinberg writing the script, I'd be fine with him coming back. But if he got his fingers into it (along with his common writing partner Jane Goldman), I'd be very wary.

As for other choices, I think JJ Abrams and Joss Whedon would work well. The latter in particular due to his success with The Avengers movies and actually working on a couple of X-Men comics back in the day.

Not a fan of Vaughn/Goldman writing? I think they can be pretty good. Vaughn isn't necessarily my TOP choice, but he's the first one that jumped to mind and frankly they could do a lot worse. If Christopher McQuarrie wasn't already doing M:I-6 then he'd be an interesting choice; he's done big-budget but nothing with very heavy VFX. Since the movie will essentially be dealing with the teenage/20s versions of Storm/Jean/Cyclops, etc., perhaps someone from these recent YA romances that people seem to love would be a good idea; all they need is a solid second unit director to help with the action sequences (but the risk there is ending up with another Marc Webb, who was overrated to begin with and then kinda tanked Spidey).

Not much; I get sick of Vaughn killing off the most interesting characters of the film, mood whiplash and overlong climaxes. He's done it for three movies in a row (Kick-Ass, First Class and Kingsman) and it almost seems like he goes out of his way to ruin the enjoyment I should have from his movies.

McQuarrie is actually a name I never considered but I think he could do a bang up job with an X-Men movie. He did do some rewrites on the first film and The Wolverine, so it could be cool to see him do one with his stamp on it.

As I've said before, I think Joss Whedon is the most obvious and best choice to take on directing an X-Men movie.

So, there's only one more day left of the SDCC, and if anyone remembers, wasn't there some talk that Fox would not be making a presence there?

I'm not sure if their plans have changed, or maybe they just want to make some last minute surprise announcements, but I hope so, because there are quite a few movies I'd really like to know more about from their studio.

  • Wolverine 3 (Weapon X),
  • Deadpool 2 (Deadpool & Cable),
  • Gambit
  • New Mutants
  • X-Force
  • X-Men: The Dark Phoenix
  • Fantastic Four 2 (hehe)

also...
  • Assassin's Creed
  • War of the Planet of the Apes
  • Alien: Covenant
  • The Predator

There's a trailer for the TV spin-off I believe, but I haven't watched it yet. Other than that I would guess Fox have little to show, since Apocalypse came out and nothing else is even filming as far as I know. Maybe Wolverine 3 is already filming, but it would be super early.

I meant super early to show anything, rather than early to be filming, to be clear. Anyway I guess they could have rushed a trailer together like Justice League did but I don't think Fox has anything to prove, like Warner does.
