Did anyone notice that in the Q&A they said they had no plans to adopt Blu-ray? Of course it says at the moment.

not adding anything, but that's where I saw it first :
http://www.businesswire.com/portal/s...51&newsLang=en

anyway, I'm real happy it's over, and maybe now we can get huge movies like Star Wars 4-6, Indiana Jones, Titanic, Back to the future ... as the format is widely adopted.

So it's 730,000 stand-alone units and another 300,000 360's. I'm sure they are talking about the number they sold to retailers, not the number sold by retailers. I wonder what the return count is up to.

Not the official press releases. They can be transposed without editing. What the OP should have been inclined to do though is wrap the text of said official press release with the "<quote></quote>" tags in order to make it obvious that they weren't his/her writing.

Unfortunately, it will probably be Black Bars. I can't believe how many people don't understand or appreciate OAR.

The only group I feel sorry for outside of this is Universal. They were actually steadfast, honorable, and behaved decently. They just picked a loosing side.

amazon just ended the B2G1 promotional offer. It's going to become challenging to find Blu-rays for cheap especially for overseas customers like me.

My favorite bit of the speech by Toshiba was how many players they sold. Remember their "we've almost sold a million" and how HD DVDers constantly quoted there was a million?

Seems a fair bit short of a million doesn't it? And only 410,000 standalones? Not really impressive numbers, and certainly not what we heard for months.

I love how all the HD DVD zealots have been claiming "2 million" players in the past few weeks.

Lo how the not-so-mighty have fallen.

Well, it's all nice knowing that Toshiba has ended the stupid charade of dancing around with a underpowered format & calling it 'superior' but when do you think we'll see announcements from Universal & Para***** now, guess Paramount made a nice $150 million for about 6 months lol

They knew this was gonna happen but oh well, they should announce immediate support for blu-ray again & oh yeah, actually confirm what we already know, That Michael Bay has been at work re-mastering the DuD version of Transformers & it's now been pressed for a Blu-ray release

Universal should also be releasing very soon, i'm sure they also saw this coming, so Universal titles should be here within 3 months as well as Para*****s

Also let's just open our arms to the EX-HD-DUD(ders) & don't forgot to mutter "told you so" under your breath when you take them into your arms for a hug & oh yeah, wear a towel down the front, it's gonna be a LOOOOOOONG cry
