I just bought Big Trouble around Thanksgiving. I also like Halloween, the Escapes movies, etc. I guess I was just having a brain fart.

Goodmorning forsberg21 I'm actually happy to trade summer for winter at the moment and I'll throw in the humidity. That's the killer of them all is bloody humidity and then the flies.

Hi all hope you all had a good day

I was thinking today about this 3D it was 42c deg so I lazed about the house but I was just wondering about the costs that's involved in upgrading. Again I think I'm alone in this but I'd rather hold back until I have no option that is movies are permanently released in 3D and no more 2D.I mean we have all spent alot of money on gear and to have to replace our projectors, our audio gear to enjoy Dolby 3D even our BD which we have paid $$$ where does it end? I'm certainly a miniority in this but I'm interested where most are at if there jumping into it or holding back to see where it goes?

Hi Frank.

How ya been?

I'm a fan of new gadgets as much as anyone. However, I'm just not sold on this whole 3D gimmick. We watched The Polar Express in 3D awhile back. Within 10 minutes my kids asked me if we could switch back to 2D. I know this new 3D will be superior to the old red/blue glasses 3D, but my point is, I don't want anything on my head while watching a movie. Plus, I'm happy with my HT as is. I don't foresee spending more money just to get 3D. It just doesn't appeal to me. Nope.

Hello Frank.

I agree with Jeff (Waboman) in most aspects, but there will most likely be a small market for the technology.
A couple of days ago, I visited one of our local AV retailers. I'm considering new racks for my system. While I was there, I spoke with one of the reps and asked him about the anticipation of the 3D technology. His outlook was not a positive one. He said they had a chance to experience the new 3D and although it was impressive, it wasn't mind blowing, gotta-have now impressive.
It will appeal to some, but he doesn't think it will take off! Wearing head gear to watch a movie at home is not a concept many will embrace. Who knows?! It could be the next big thing!

What I don't like about this whole 3D business is how blurry the image can get at times, even on the newer technology versions. I think it will probably be a long time until they get it to a point where it's right on.

It's ok now, but all that unnatural blur gives me a headache and I can take a lot as far as spinning, crazy stuf goes...

My vote is no for now...

Can you imagine hosting a Superbowl party and passing out headgear to all your guests? "Excuse me, can you pass the beer & chips... oh and a pair of those snazzy 3D goggles too?"
