One of the things I've found disappointing coming out of CES is a lack of news regarding 70" LCD or plasma HDTVs. Prior to CES, Sony did have a 70" unit, but it was around $33,000.

Not being a projection fan, I was hoping that along with "feature creep", we would see continued "size creep", that is, larger size LCDs and plasmas for less $.

Sigh.

2 questions for this guy:

What will he do if burn-in occurs? Guess he won't be playing video games on this sucker.

Also, how much electricity does this sucker use. I mean does it cause a small black out in area everytime he turns the bloody thing on.

The electrical bills will be huge. Like $10000 a year or something. Hope he's on with Direct Energy. LOL.

Default 103 " ???? 90 thousand????

Wow Obviously this guy did not really do his research

I my self if I had the money would not spend 90,000 on an LCD, however If I did have the money. I would consider purchasing one of these Projectors for my Home theatre.

http://www.runco.com

the SC1 goes for about 250,000

Projectors are like AUDIO. Once you cap the 3000-5000$ the incremental to get better quality is exponential. Like at 30000$ you're not 8x better...

Hmmm... I have an uncle in Welland who COULD afford it... but I doubt it's him. He seems content with his 24" tube TV hehe.
It'd sure be a pain to lug that thing around tho... where-ever it goes it will be in it's permanent spot. And if anything goes wrong with it... it takes 4 guys to carry it? I have a 50" and it took 2 people to mount it on a stand. A 60" TV is like 145lbs... would hate to have technical issues where it needs to be taken to a repair shop.

you can build yourself an excellent theater system for 90 grand. What an idiot to spend that much on a 103" plasma tv.

oh! and how much electricity will that thing consume.
You will need your own personal power plant to run it.

Panasonic released a 150" Plasma, and they're projecting the price tag to be around $100k so this guy should have held out!
