I got my copy of QOS from Amazon. She is not eco friendly so I did all right. I'm not a fan of the new cases. I'm sure eventually they'll all be like that. They still charge the same amount of $ lol less plastic = cheaper blu's. The disks are not safe in those cases.

I just received my order from U.S. Plastics for 50 cases. These cases have the embossed logo as opposed to the ink stamp logo.

Final cost for 50 cases was $34.29 ($28.00 + $2.09 {tax} + $4.20 {s/h}) Received cases within five days of order.

I think you may change your mind the first time you go to retrieve a disc and it pops out and rolls across the floor........

I hate the cases

I purchase Quatum of Solace this weekend and it have that case and it's awful! I care about the enviroment but it's awful that there are holes on the case and the worst part is that one of the recycle things is in the disc holder!

I have previously stated I would buy new cases if I got one of these "eco-friendly" cases.

Well I just got my first one when I bought "The Robe" at Future Shop.

I've been thinking about whether this is an emotional thing or a practical thing.

I watched carefully how I open a Blu-ray case, not thinking about what type of case it is. As I open the case, my fingers do tend to press somewhat on the front of the cover. In this situation with this case my fingers press over the cut out areas. I don't want to lose my artwork.

I've ordered 10 cases on ebay.

I like the blu-rays that also have some cover art on the inside! It's just a nice little touch. When taking the disc out you get to se some more artwork on the inside of the front and back covers. I guess with these new cases/covers that won't be happening anymore.

They could always stop putting ridiculous amounts of stickers or security tags inside theand outside the case to save some plastic. I hate that residue from stickers

I agree. There are far more effective ways to produce environmentally friendly cases if "going green" was the true intention here. This is marketing and cost reduction.

I'm all for helping the environment. I'm not all for sacrificing the quality of the product I'm buying to help the company's bottom line while they hide under the green umbrella.

Default I dont like these new envirnmental cases

There was a thread about them not long ago but i cant find it. I really dont like these cases. (and before you tell me i can buy new cases) yes i know that. but one thing i always liked about blu-ray is that some studios (sony in particular) took the opportunity to place unique movie art or scene listings on the back of the cover so you could see them when you open the case. All the new ones with the cutouts are just plain white. i hope this doesnt become the norm.

I dont mind them. It saves on wasting plastic. As for your artwork thing, most companies don't have it anyways and that has more to do with laziness then the cases. I just wish all companies could have agreed on the same case from the start of the format. There is no need for this many different types.
