Your opinion of new Blu-ray cases with cut-outs?

I would like to move over in that direction, the cardboard that is. Other solutions; The shape of the cases themselves are too large for how big the disk is, you could remove a lot of plastic by making the case smaller and keep it just as safe! To me this screams no thought marketing ploy.

you hit the nail on the head, anyone that thinks that this is being done to be eco friendly and save the environment is being extremely naive, the companies producing these cases are doing this to save money on production and to try and sell a few more copies to people that are really big on the whole "going green" thing
