Hilarious.

Thanks. That explains the discart then. I must say the US package does look nice but I'll live with our Digistack.

Dude, you don't have to make up some lame theory about crystals and whatever to make us think a technical error was done on purpose to help the film's story line. It was a error in the mastering of the 2004 films. That is it. No more, no less. When you start offering excuses out of the EU or whatever for bad mastering your credibility plummets.

Vader's lightsaber in Star Wars was red in 77, red in 80, and red 83, and then red in 1997. The Sith in the films, be it Tyranus, Maul, Sideous or Vader, all had red sabers. Please, for the love of god, I am talking about the red outer glow, not the fn core. The core to all Lightsabers is white. Common knowledge, so lets not go down that road.

So, let's all move on from this topic. We know they fixed some of the most glaring lightsaber issues. Didn't get em all, but I will glady take what is being offered. I liked how they showed Sam Jackson/Ewan McGregor in the brief special feature preview with them acting to a green screen and then seemlessly switching to the finished product. Hope there is a LOT of that on the bonus discs.

I'm very excited that the star wars saga is coming out on blu-ray disc in about a month. And as far as some fans complaining about the blu-ray box set just let it go. Would it be nice to have the UOT in the blu-ray box set? Yes it would be but it's not going to happen. Some are saying it won't sell well. It will sell well because it is the biggest release in the history of the blu-ray format. It's star wars on blu-ray and we should not complain about the box set. I'm going to enjoy the blu-ray box set next month when it comes out. The things I'm most looking forward to besides seeing the films on blu-ray in 1080p HD video and hearing them in DTS HD MA 6.1 are the deleted scenes from all 6 films and the stuff from the lucasfilm archives like the interviews in the mini documentaries and other stuff as well and also the vintage documentaries.

BRAVO! That's a spot on assesment. The nit-picking is hilarious. If it's not one thing, it's another. One wonders if these fans could ever truely be happy in life to begin with. Sounds like they are all obsessive compulsive. They have medicine for that you know.

I'm wondering when all the store exclusives are gonna hit...I've been holding off on a preorder waiting to see if there was any release I'd want more, then I'd have to choose (just the original trilogy interests me)

Its retarded and goes against what is established for the sith. I guess vader is special though. Nothing more intimidating than a dark mass murdering overlord rocking a pink lightsaber. Magenta screams death and destruction. It has always been the symbol of blood and war, after all. Oh wait, that's not right. RED is the symbol of blood and war.

Actually the core of Vader's lightsaber is pinkish/white with a mild red outer glow.

And the 2004 DVD honored this fact which can be confirmed in the below comparison:

1977/1981 Technicolor print on the left/2004 DVD on the right.

In other words the 2004 DVD(and it's hidef master--to be used for the blu rays) is a faithful(although different ) rendition of the original cinematic print(in terms of color reference).

He's right. I'm not going to say there are not inconsistencies in the lightsaber coloring. There are. That inconsistency has always been there and there has always been a pinkish tint to the lightsaber on every release I've ever owned.

In other words, although the supposed legendary Technicolor print reflects the "original" film, and Vader's 2004 & 2011 sabers are look suspiciously similar to it, they're still shoddy transfers because no-one wants Vader saber to have a pink glow Beautiful!

...you are still trying to convince yourself. I hope the blu ray is coloured exactly the same as your beloved flawed technicolour print evidence photo, cause then we can also look forward to pink hangar bay lights, pink highlights on the floor, pink stormtrooper costumes AND pink lightsabres.

Try reading my earlier posts. ILM have been confirmed as going back in to change the colours of the lightsabres because they look 'funky'. Lets just wait until the blu ray comes out, then you can tell everyone how clever you are. The MODS are going to be deleting about 30 pages of this dross come monday. Nobody cares anymore, you like pink, others like red (in fact so does ILM and George Lucas according to the prequel trilogy). All we can ALL hope for is a colour match throughout all 6 films, be that pink or be that red. The Sith lords should all wield the same colour sabre yes?

Lets put this one to bed now for everyones sake.
