Commentaries count for around 24 hours of the extras.

I remember seeing someone post that the three special features discs totaled around 929 minutes, or something close to that. Disc 9 is 417 minutes and the other two totaled 512 minutes, IIRC. Just over 15 hours. Add that to 6 films worth of commentaries and you're at nearly 40 hours. 40 hours not including the commentaries would have been great too.

That figure is also subjective. I know I'll look at the models for a really long time. For me, that's a really interesting aspect of this set that for me gives it a lot of value. Others might not be interested in that at all. I think the set is going to have different value to different people.

True. That's something I enjoy too. I can see myself spending a lot of time looking at models, props, and other archive material.

If it's current maybe, but I doubt the older documentaries and deleted scenes will be HD.

Incorrect. It's a featurette from the website with the tests done for Boba Fett (with a white costume).

Unfortunately, Lucasfilm screwed the pootch once again. The documentaries COULD have been mastered from their 16mm elements...and they weren't.

What else is new.

No, the holiday special cartoon is over 9 minutes long. It's more thank likely going to be a longer version of what was originally shown over at he hyperspace site:

The original OT documentaries seem like they are only going to be in SD and taken from old digital sources used for the VHS/ laserdiscs.

Now if the extras are in SD is it possible that 8:39 is the time with PAL speed up? Therefore the cartoon would actually be 9:00 even which is the exact time as the complete cartoon on You Tube.

It's likely wishful thinking especially if its on the Prequel Trilogy bonus disc.

damn........I wanted that Boba cartoon. lol

the white costume doc looks interesting too though.

Ah well. Everything related to the SW Holiday special has always been ignored as if it were the family outcast.

Bit disappointed that the DVD web docs, trailers and full length documentaries such as The Beginning and Empire of Dreams are not included. They should have done an additional disc with just these on and called it a 10 disc set.

The extras feel incomplete without them.

Considering that D9 has 7 hours of stuff I'm hoping that there is more to be revealed for D7 and D8 since they seem a little short on material.

From SW to Jedi would be nice @ 65 min.

Of course, the complete Holiday Special @ 97 min. would be nice but doubtful.

I'd like to have all the Laserdisc archives.

Very useful post, thanks! I'm really interested in the "collection" featurettes. I will say to those that don't have the PT on dvd...if you like bonus docs, get them. Episode I and II are must owns just for the behind the scenes material.

One of the things I find curious is why From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga is not included in the set. It's an in-house Lucasfilm production.

Weird.

Didn't Star Wars to Jedi feature repurposed footage and interviews from previous behind the scenes specials? Perhaps thats why, too much retold bits of info. I'm totally cool with it not being included, as we already have three other classic specials. Plus The Collection clips are sure to touch on OT behind the scenes stuff, probably in greater detail.
