Onkyo HT-SR800 Home theater audio system

I was wondering if anyone knew how good the Onkyo HT-SR800 is? i found it on amazon for $459 USD

I have an Onkyo system now...the SR780 and it's amazing. I'll probably upgrade to the SR800 sometime over the summer. You simply can't go wrong when it comes to Onkyo. The sound is crisp, clear and powerful. $459 is a great price. I paid $499 two years ago when I bought my 780. I'd definitely go for it.

Try looking up soundandvisionmag.com. They archive reviews on their site and are reputable as far as their reviews. Theirs is the only A/V magazine I read.

That is what I bought, same system. I LOVE IT! Except for the fact that the receiver is only HDMI Pass Thru. So running a HMDI cable to the receiver and expectiong audio to come thru your surround sound just won't happen because its only a pass thru. You'll need to run a fiber optic or digital coax to the receiver for audio. OR you can buy the Panasonic 10A blu-ray that is coming out this month and get lossless PCM thru the 7.1 analog inputs in the receiver

Don't buy it from Amazon! Do what I did. Go to circuitcity.com and print the amount that is in the shopping cart, which is $449.99 this week, take it to the store and pick it up for that price. The store wants $499.99 and it was $469.99 online when I bought mine, so thats what I paid.
