Default Blu-rays and US Customs

If I buy some BR disks and bring them to the USA when I fly over, will customs charge me some high rate if I'm found with them in my bags?

Am thinking of bringing some copies of RENT over from Asia to sell on E-bay.

Thanks

Are you coming to, or going from the US?

If you're bringing in your existing private property from abroad, it's not a problem.

You have to bring in a huge amount of merchandise to get hit by customs. If you're coming back into the US with foreign discs, the limit is hundreds of dollars in merch before you get charged anything

Shoot, they wont bother you, and if they do just say "I am giving them away as gifts." Not like they would think anything different

I believe you're allowed to take up to 250 dollars in gifts with you as a tourist ... however, I think (but am not sure) that there is no limit on items you can bring for personal use.

So, you can always make the statement that you brought those to watch while over here in the US.

It's always a good idea to go to the source for information:

I had no problem bringing stuff back with me when i came back from overseas to the states. With five disk you should have no problem at all.

I travel back and forth between Asia and the US several times a year and you have absolutely nothing to be concerned about. They're only concerned about metals, explosives, and now liquids.

You know, I was just wondering about a similar issue.

This is really a question for my fellow Canucks here, if I was to order something like a LCD projector from the USA... would the customs slap a bill onto it?

Anybody had any experiences in this area?

If you order it and ship it, then yes, they sure as heck will!

I bought a Paradigm speaker from E-bay once, and they taxed that sucker $75, if memory serves. I think I paid $200 for it! That was coming into the USA from Canada. Paradigm speakers cost a LOT less if you buy them in Canada, where they are made.
