Default Selling 52 xbr-4 to buy 55 A950

Hey guys I'm just looking for opinions as I'm getting set to sell my 52" sony xbr-4 and purchase the samsung 55" A950. Will this set be a significant upgrade? Will I be blown away by the led backlighting? I value all your feedback. Thanks.

I would go with the 55" XBR8. It has a better picture. The best of any LCD. Have you seen it in action?

I have seen this set but it is out of my price range at this point. I live in canada and the xbr-8 is still retailing for around $4400 while the samsung can be had for just under $3000. This was a deciding factor behind the decision to go with the a950

Well in that case, then yes the Sammy 950 would be great.

Thanks. That's just what I was thinking. Hard to beat the a950 at this price since I won't be out of pocket that much after selling the xbr-4. I will miss it though.

Why? I would rather have the LED backlit set?

Don't get started with the Pioneer comparisons. That is not what he asked. Clearly he is happy with LCD. And wants an LED set.

Very happy with lcd and the 950 is what I intend to buy and the backlighting was a big reason for the switch.

How do you plan to go about selling your current TV? I have been wanting to sell my Sony 40" KDL-XBR4 for a while now, but doubt the second hand market will yield more than $800.

Have a buyer who looked at the set last night. I had put it on craigslist and have gotten a few replies and the usual low ball offers. Pretty happy with what I'm getting for it considering I had purchased extended warranty.

Craigslist would be your best bet.I am in the process right now of getting ride of my S300 with a buyer thru Craigslist and the next thing I want to sell is my KDL 40XBR2.
It can be a pain in the ass sometime dealing with people thru Craigslist but you do fine some people who are really interested.

I think the 950 will be a very nice upgrade. And if you can get it for under 3k in Canada, damn, sounds good.

Go with the XBR9. But if thats out of your price range then the Samsung would be a good choice.

I said nothing of him buying a plasma!! I meant the blacks, the 950 is a badass led-lcd with the best blacks ive seen so far on lcd. I meant, the blacks are almost as deep and good as a pio. If i wanted to tell him "hey bro you should buy a pio plasma" i would have. But thats not what he wants. Thats y i said " +1 on the sammy!"
