Takashi Miike's AUDITION: Disc company Shout! Factory released the first peek at the cover art for a new two-DVD release of Takashi Miike’s AUDITION, as well as content info. Featuring a new high-definition transfer from the internegative (with a fresh digital stereo soundtrack) of Miike’s notorious chiller, about a widower (Ryo Ishibashi) who holds “auditions” for a new girlfriend and winds up hooking up with a beautiful psychopath (Eihi Shiina), the set will street in October, along with a double-Blu-ray edition.

Both versions will include an impressive array of original special features; the lineup includes:
New audio commentary by director Miike and screenwriter Daisuke Tengan
New video introduction by Miike
Over 90 minutes of new interviews with the cast, including Ishibashi, Shiina, Renji Ishibashi and Ren Osugi
Trailers
Liner notes by Tom Mes, author of Agitator The Cinema of Takashi Miike
Retail price is $24.98 each for both the DVDs and the Blu-rays.

This makes having to wait for Ichi The Killer a little easier to take.

Audition is suck an awesome movie, one of the best from Miike, probably his best in term of cinematography....also is scariest IMO...

Couldn't find another thread that posted this.

Takashi Miike's thriller/horror film Audition is coming to Blu-Ray on October 6, 2009. Here is the link on Amazon.

It is a two disc set, the first being a Blu-ray with the film and an audio commentary.

The second disc is a standard DVD with new interviews and international trailers.

What do you guys think? Do you think it will be a decent release because it is quite cheap.

Jesus Christ, stop that! lol you sent a chill down my spine. I couldn't go on a date for 3 weeks after watching this film.

No offense, but to me the people that say this movie is "too slow" or boring remind me of a girl that I had listen to a Yes song one time, and put the headphones down after 15 seconds and said, "This is boring." That kind of perspective doesn't work when the song still has another 15 or so minutes to go

Everything's about instant gratification nowdays... damn rap "music"...

was just wondering if anyone has the Audition blu-ray i was wondering how the PQ was on it. I have been unable to find any reviews yet just curious I have the original DVD release and was wondering if the PQ was worth the upgrade.

I dont own a copy of the movie yet, even on SDVD. If I can come across a copy at a decent price Ill pick it up.

I would hope so... It was made 7 years after the Shout Factory release.
