Default apc h-15 question

probably a silly question...but...

i just received a new h-15 and would like to hook it up today. on the back there are two outlets for the sub and amplifier. i am using two external amplifiers and a sub - can i plug a standard power strip into one of the two outlets and then plug both amplifiers into the power strip?

thanks,
ben

I think it should be fine, as long as you don't overload the unit. I think you can check the load on it on the front display, not sure without looking at it.

I have the H10, but I'm trying to remember- isn't there another "high power" outlet in the back? You could always use that instead.

I think you would be ok to split that outlet, but I do recommend that you look through your owners manual to see what that particular outlet can handle load wise. The unit itself can handle 1500VA, which roughly transfers to 12.5 amps depending on the voltage being received by the th H15. With those numbers I think you will be fine. Also you can look at your amps to determine what there RMS power consumption is, in order to determine if the H15 can handle it. Im pretty sure it can. I have one myself but I have not split any of my outlets.

I had a couple questions when I received mine. I called the factory and they were great.

i took your directive and called them over lunch. they recommend against adding a power strip to an outlet, but the rep said the reason for this is because they don't want people to overload the unit. i asked him if i know that i am within the limits of the unit if it would be ok, and he said it would be fine.

Unstead of asking a lot of people questions about an item, I always find asking the source a better avenue.
