Hopefully this is a sign of the coming of other great back titles.. such as
xenogears and star ocean Second story

Sorry to be a jerk but Marine Mike Origins did not include the first final fantasy, so I think the title should have been original final fantasy's or some plural form.

I believe origin came with FF2 (US), and FF3 (US) or FF4 (Japan) and FF6 (Japan) based on which numbering system you want to use.

i tried to play both FFII and FFIII on the PSP versions and it was jsut way too dated of gameplay for me to get into .. every 3 steps you were in fights and you need to do some major grinding to stand a snowballs chance ..

I wouldn't mind 8 and 9 on PSN.

I still have my copy of VII and all of my save files, so I didn't even bother with the PSN version.

8 and 9 though...I'm in.

This one, I might pick up out of shear respect.

Origins is Final Fantasy + Final Fantasy II.

The first game was released on the Japanese store.

Final Fantasy Origins (as released in the US) was both FF1 and FF2
Final Fantasy Chronicles (as released in the US) was FF4 and CT
Final Fantasy Anthology (as released in the US) was FF5 and FF6.

FF3 for the NDS marked the first time 3 was available in the US.

Final Fantasy Collection (as released in Japan) contained 4, 5 and 6
Final Fantasy Anthology (as released in Europe) contained 4 and 5
Final Fantasy I & II Premium Package (released in japan) was FFO plus some extras.

Edit: All numbers are from the Japanese release, not the US release numbers (from SNES days)

Sorry guys.
Don't feel bed it gets very confusing...

Only reason I know which goes with what set is earlier this week / tiny bit of last week I've been going through and getting a list for myself. Wikipedia has a list but it's missing some and a pain in the *** to follow IMO.

I was trying to figure out which single release / sets I'm missing from my FF collection (Japan and US releases only, maybe someday I'll pick up the European versions).

I beat this game on the PSP in 40 hours about a year ago...that's including some of the extra stuff you can do after beating the game...

the 2nd FF was much tougher though...

Yes
Everything released post FF7 should be using the true numbers associated with the initial Japanese release.

I hope this release hits America, too, as well as reissues for the other Final Fantasy collections (seeing as how they say Squaresoft PS1 stuff won't work in a PS3.)

I have the older PSP UMD release of FFI and was considering FFII, but now it would seem I should wait.

I would prefer they not release collections of games as a single downloaded entity, but rather split them up and sell them individually for slightly cheaper or maybe exactly half. They could be more expensive overall, but I would be happy, and isn't that what this is really about?
