Default Sad new...there won't be any "My Fair Lady" in Blu from WB

Barrie Maxwell, at the end of his list of coming attractions at digitalbits.com, mentioned that Warner Bros. hasn't had the home video rights to "My Fair Lady" and the Charlie Chaplin library since as of the end of June. I am sorry to hear this because MFL would look stunning on Blu. (And, of course, I would love the Chaplin films on Blu.)

Any word on who has the rights, or who will have the rights? Surely, somebody will put them out on Blu-Ray sooner or later.

That sucks. I'd heard that was supposed to be out sometime this year. It even aired on HDNet Movies which is usually an indicator that a Blu-ray release is right around the corner.

Good thing I never sold the DVD in anticipation of the Blu-ray.

I wonder if the rights reverted back to CBS.

I'm betting that's what happened.

from what I can find out about it on the web it is now back with CBS which probably means Paramount. They have been slow about releasing classic films on BD... but I can certainly see them trying to release My Fair Lady and Breakfast at Tiffanys on the same release date.

I just hope they don't imit the WB logo which is embedded in the actual intro for My Fair Lady hard to nix that...
