In the Mood For Love? - Blu-ray Forum

ItMFL is probably one of the greatest pieces of cinema I have ever seen. Unfortunately I never got the chance to view it in the cinema ; / I'd love to watch this on Blu-ray HD but can't find any information regarding it's release. If anyone know's when or whether it will be released on Blu-ray i would really appreciate it. Also, i'm sure there are others who'd love to have this on BD?

My guess would be that Criterion will re-release it sometime in the future. Great film.

Lucky I'm fluent in french then

However it sucks as i wanted to show it to some friends, as it's probably an EU region disc, shouldn't it have English subs as well as german/italian/dutch etc?

Took a quick look at the French dvd of ITML and they have English, Dutch and a few other European languages. So there is hope. The studio on those releases were TF1. Which studio is releasing the Blu-ray?

Ahh nice, hopefully it will include English then. No idea which studio though, maybe pro-bassoonist might know?

So not buying the DVD then. Can't wait. Any other Wong Kar Wai Blus in works I should know about? Like Happy Together or Fallen Angels?

Fallen Angels Blu-Ray was supposed to be released by Kino, but who knows what happened to that.
Now, regarding topic, I really hope Criterion makes this into BD!!

If it's a French release, the PQ should be quite good. Saw this movie in HD a few months ago on Arts Televison here in Montreal. Was with original Chinese and French sub. They should keep the same for the BD release I would imagine.

Do you know what happened to this French Blu-ray release? I have this aweful feeling that Criterion will sit on it for a while OR that they need to re-negotiate the HD rights for it with Universal. Any updates would be great

Kino have done a great job with Happy Together and Fallen Angels.

The ITMFL release in Europe was -IIRC- the same 2 discer just reprinted for several countries. Very smart idea which we also had with the Dardennes' Rosetta/La Promesse.

I'd love to see 2046 but seeing Lust, Caution on Blu-ray was a treat that'll do for now.

Criterion and ITMFL? Hmmm. Their 2DVD was just about OK. I think Universal (who own the the old distributor USAFilms) own the US rights although they may not as some of those rights are with StudioCanal (who are shagging Lionsgate at the moment it seems).

I love Wong Kar Wai movies especially "In the mood for love" and it would be great to watch it again on Blu-ray.
