The #1 video seller for the week ending 10/11 was Snow White Blu-ray. The version with the DVD casing as well as the one with the Blu-ray casing were counted as a Blu-ray sale, since both contained 2 BD discs. The DVD only version will be released in November. Thus, Blu-ray accounted for 100% of Snow White unit sales. The other two notable new releases were: Year One with 11% BD share, and Trick 'R Treat with 28% of total unit sales to the Blu guys. To note that the second highest seller for the week Monsters vs Aliens sold only 53% of the amount genrated by Snow White Blu-ray. Thus, our poll...not scientific nor 100% accurate, but just for fun. What is your estimate for the BD % share of the Total Package Media Revenue for the week ending 10/11/09? I will start with an estimate of 22%.

I hate to be a downer, but I think there's no way that Blu-Ray revenue is over 20%.
The Revenue charts are not dominated by the top 20 most weeks, they are dominated by bargain bins, and thus this showing for Blu-Ray isn't going to affect things by more than a few % points. |

Do those even count on the charts? I mean, I thought they only took the top 20 titles and figured it out that way. Although, I have noticed a couple weeks where those bargain $5 DVDs at Target and Best Buy have shown up on the DVD top 20.

If Snow White will continue selling like hot cakes still going to be a dominate for another consecutive week and a possible strong third week during the release of Transformers 2 ,the result will be exceptional .I guess 22 percent as Blu-titan predicted it is not far away.

They used to only take the top 20s. Now it's based on total revenue. When Bargain bin DVDs are estimated to be 40% of DVD sales, those 5$s and 10$s add up fast.
