Default BDP-S350 Noise Issue

Hi folks, don't know if this has been in other threads but I'm getting a low hum of some discs, especially when It's goes onto DTS MAster Audio and True HD, I can only notice it late at night when it is turned down, but it is there! I have a Sony strg820 amp, wondering if anybody has noticed this!

Thanks

I have the same setup, I never really had mine at a low enough volume. I will check mine tonight with TROF disc. I really do like my 820 best bang for the buck for what it does.

Thanks Vinnay, I've had a look and when I think about it I have loads of wires at the back of my amp, so need to have a look and do some tests to see if anything cures it..thanks for info on Ground Loop!

Indianabones, I checked TROF blu ray dtsma bitstreamed to my 820 tonight.
I have the volume at 5, 7, and I am not getting any type of hum.
I would check out the ground loop issues on some of the threads.
I would also try and plug just your blu ray player and receiver into a double outlet and have nothing else hooked up to that outlet. In my home when I turn off the lights my subwoofer makes a popping noise. Check some of your other large current drawing items in the room and uplug them to see if that fixes the problem. I had a treadmill once that messed with my receivers sound when it was plugged into an outlet in the same room. I would also make sure I was using bannana plugs or speaker pins on all speaker connections.
Good luck.

Thanks for testing that mate, good idea to just have amp and BD player plugged in, I will do this over the weekend, Was going to get a surge protector for the plugs as well, hopefully will clean up the power as well. I will also get banna plugsfor speaker connections, be worth it to cure the problem. I found out when I put my surround effect off, it's not as bad, but when it's on it's really bad. Thanks for your help, will keep you informed.!

Indy
