Hey guys and gals,
It's been a long time since I haven't posted any updated pics of my HT but I've finally taken some time to take a few pics showing my latest additions (XPA-3 amp, SVS PC12-Plus and SVS AS-EQ1): ![]() ![]() Wire management which is getting a bit more complicated but still not too bad: ![]() Fans on XPA-3 amp ![]() Fans on XPA-2 amp ![]() Well that's it for now, my subsequent updates will likely be replacement the Denon with the UMC-1 (if it lives up to the expectations), getting a dedicated Blu-ray player (I'm waiting for the new Oppo) and possibly room treatment since I've been talking about them for more than a year to my gf. Anyway feel free to leave comments! ![]() |

Hello JonK.
What an impressive presentation! Your system is one of the cleanest I've seen on this site. The components are well configured and the cable management is surperb. The Axioms are very nice speakers. I notice that you have 2 Emotiva amps. Obviously, the 2 channel is pushing the fronts. Now that you've added the XPA-3, how has the surround sound and center performance improved? Anyway, the system and room is tastefully done! Congrats. Last edited by ldgibson76; 01-08-2010 at 02:56 AM. |

Very nice. Why the fans for the amps, though? I have mine enclosed in a cabinet and it barely gets warm? Is it because it is right there by the baseboard heater?
Anyways, congrats on the new additions and I'm still lovin' the setup! |

Very elegant Johk! And like others before me have said, your setup has always been one I like and look at. Congrats!
![]() ![]() EDIT: I can't believe I never rated your gallery....my bad! I have corrected that oversight though! John Last edited by Johnny Vinyl; 01-08-2010 at 07:03 AM. |

You room is beautiful Johk, and of course I love the dual Plus'!! But your room is aesthetically awesome to look at and it has great balance. I think your wire management is pretty darn good to...really nice additions and HT you got there!!

Beautiful System.
Love the AV Cabinet. Its a Beautiful Piece of High Quality Furniture(from its look)And to see a Low and wide AV Center is a nice change from many of the narrow and high Racks. I am not trying to say that there is Anything wrong with either style. Its just nice to see some members using the other style, for a change. As in some instances specifically shaped Racks look and fit better in a pre-determined area. But with the Addition of two Incredible Emotiva Amps,I am sure that it not only became louder but also brought some appreciated clarity and added detail to the Movies or Music you are playing. While adding another SVS Sub is Outstanding. The Bass Level in your HT Area must be incredible. Everything from Explosions to Rocket Lift-Offs must generate a Bass Level that vibrates your internal organs. And outstanding job and asthetic upgrade in sleeving all your Speaker Wire.It looks like Some Incredible Cables with the sleeves you used. Its amazing how much of an improvement touches like sleeving cables can make to the overall look and feel of an entire system. Great System and Wonderful Additions,to say the Very Least. Thanks for sharing them with us. |

Thank you crazyBLUE, Yautja, vega2K, SeanMF, ldgibson76, dase, 4x12, lou, John, forsberg and talstarone! Your comments are greatly appreciated! I get many ideas from looking at your respective setups as well as those of other members here.

Also the addition of the XPA-3 is getting me closer to my goal of replacing the Denon receiver with a pre-pro (I would love to get the Arcam AV888 but at that price tag it's rather unlikely...). Quote:
The fans are there mostly for peace of mind since the amps don't get hot but since I don't have lot of clearance above the amps I prefer to be on the safe side... And the baseboard heater (which I should have changed when I did renovations 2 years ago) doesn't really heat the amp (heat rises) but it did cause some space restriction and I had to get some 90° RCA adapter for the analog cable and another adapter for the power cord to prevent the cables from being too close to the heater. And I really love my subs, which are a critical part of the home HT experience in my opinion (well another critical component would be a projector but that's something that I will begin to look at in a few years when we buy a new house). Last edited by Johk; 01-08-2010 at 02:47 PM. |
