Hello all,
Anyone else getting an error message trying to play the "Hard Rain" BD? I was getting one that said "Copyright Violation" and I updated the firmware on my Panasonic BD30. Now I am getting one that says "This disc is incompatible". I assume the disc is defective, it is brand new. Thanks --Todd |

If the disc is defective you could try exchanging it. If problem continues after that then the fault is from your BD player. I suggest contacting panasonic customer support to inquire but before doing that try playing a different BD to see if the issue is coming from your player.

I got the "Copyright Violation" error message on Planet Hulk last week, which is also a Lionsgate release, and it confused the hell out of me. The disc would play for about 10 seconds, and then the "Copyright Violation" message would come up in the middle of a black screen. It was a Netflix film, so I reported the disc to them. It looks like there's a batch processing error going on with Lionsgate production. It sucks that the replacement disc seems to be messed up as well.

Hmm maybe it is just bad batches then..
This is 2 discs from Amazon though.. The first one gave the copyright violation and wouldn't play at all. The replacement: 1st load: Kind of started up, then ejected with no message. 2nd load: Played to about 45 min, then pixellated and skipped like crazy. |

Could be the same problem people were having with Crank 2 (another Lionsgate title). Make sure you have an SD card that is at least 1GB plugged in before starting the movie and see if this fixes your problem.
This was the solution with Crank 2, regardless if you were using BD Live and regardless if your player was hooked up to a network. |
