Default Blu-Ray Player Internet Question

I have the Momitsu BDP-899. I'm aware that this player has internet capabilities with a BD-LIVE 2.0 Profile. I've tried SO MUCH to get internet, but can't quite get it. I've tried hooking an ethernet cable from Blu-Ray player to my computer, and it said LINK UP on the player, but when I put in a Blu-Ray with BD-LIVE, it doesn't work. It doesn't even read an internet connection.
I've tried also putting my Xbox 360 wireless internet adapter in, hoping maybe it'd work, into the USB slot. It fit and it actually was being read by the Blu-Ray player, but it had a red light on the adapter (no connection) and I'm not too great with this internet stuff. Is there something I could buy that's not too expensive that will get me wireless internet with this player or something I can do with the stuff I already have listed above? Please someone help. I want to be able to use my iPod Touch as my remote and be able to use BD-LIVE in my room. Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I can't help with the wireless portion, but I did eventually get the 899 to hook up via wired connection. The unfortunate part is that I don't know how I did it. I tried repeatedly, as you did, to get it to connect without any luck. But after trying unplugging, manually entering info, etc., it all of a sudden decided to work! So I can vouch for the fact that it is BD-Live compliant, but it takes some patience to make it so. Hang in there and keep trying!

I WOULD do a wired connection straight to my internet box, BUT it's down the hall and in another room at the end of the hall. I don't think I could get a cable there. I have one long enough, but I have no way to hide the wire without going through the walls, which I don't want to do.
This is why I need a wireless connection or a way to do wired connection with my computer or something. Please someone help!

If you want to use your PC and it's a Windows machine, you'll have to activate Internet Connection Sharing and leave the PC on while playing.
For wireless, you'll need to buy a wireless access point to connect to the Momitsu's Ethernet jack; you'll also need a wireless router or access point at the internet box (unclear if you have one or not).
In any case, the simplest & most reliable option is still the wired connection. Luckily, my router & Internet gateway are both next to my TV, so my PS3 & my Sherwood (same as the BDP-899 but with 7.1 analog outputs) both have wired connections; only my PC is wireless.
