Talking Is this a strange obsession?

I have this thing about me whenever I watch movies.. If they have an amazing soundtrack it makes the movie so memorable to me.. Like for instance, the music when the Joker in The Dark Knight pulls off the famous "Why so serious" line.. It sends chills up my spine of how amazing the scene is done. The effect is 10x more powerful in the movie theater.. I just saw Alice in Wonderland, which had an incredible soundtrack.. I was amazed by how well the film was made.. I have no speakers on my TV so I can't really appreciate the music as well as I would like to.

Does anyone else have this feeling? It makes me so, SO excited for movies coming out in the future .. It makes me think of summer, and how the best movies of the year come out then..

Am I the only one?

Some examples

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ac4xamCIgY

It just gives me this insane love of movie feeling.. I find it very hard to explain and a bit embarrassed. I hope I'm not the only one!

Saving Private Ryan is increduous. I don't think that's a word.

Me too! I think it's funny that sometimes in trailers they use soundtracks from other movies. One used often is the theme from Costner's Robin Hood.

One of my favorites was Last of the Mohicans.

I'm a huge fan of film soundtracks. The moment I was done watching Moon I went on itunes and bought the soundtrack. listen to it almost once a day since I bought it in January. simply amazing.

i know.. i was downright nearly in tears at the ending, when they killed that one Mohican Indian..
that was intense.. but they got revenge..

i also re-play
the terminator 2 theme song in my head all day every day god knows why..
i was like lord am i the only one? that thinks of that badass theme song in my head every once in awhile..
i think T2 had some of the great scores in music,

so many great films like Lord of the Rings with Great Music!

The soundtrack is really what pulls the movie together.

Soundtrack is absolutely a great feature to have in a movie. I actually just got a few Transformers and Pirates soundtrack songs off iTunes.

I've said it before.... but the audio in general on horror/sci-fi/suspense type films especially, but with all films, is what really makes the experience whole.

Look at the creepy audio on "The Orphanage" as a strong example...... CREEPY.

I can think of several instances of the perfect marriage of music and film, but in two of my favorite movies:

2001
the 2nd and 3rd occurence of "Thus Spake Zarathustra", first where the man-ape has been inspired to kill by the monolith and is crushing the tapir skull. When he tosses the bone behind him in slow motion as the fading chord of the organ ends into the noise of the wind, it is one of those "masterpiece moments".

Of course the appearance of the Star Child with the theme, the audience looking directly into its eyes at the end of the movie highlights the sense that you have just witnessed something great but could never put it in words.

Star Wars: A New Hope
That scene of Luke Skywalker staring into the sunset with the John Williams score was the very musical/visual symbolism of the travails of youth.
