Default Amazon.de shipping charge question...

While this is not news to me, yet I was still wondering if someone in the know could tell me why Amazon.de (Germany) is charging 15+ Euros to ship a movie to the States? This just pisses me off, especially considering that I've purchased more then a dozen titles form the UK Amazon site, and I've never been charged more that £3 to have a movie shipped to me. I find it quite ridiculous, and this has also deterred me from buying several German only Blu-ray releases. Has anyone else wondered about this?

I believe it is because of DHL which is their shipping provider. Shipping costs more on Amazon Japan than it does on Amazon Germany. It does tend to make a person go crazy, in my case with wanting to buy the Japanese Godzilla Blu-rays.

Its 14€ for one movie or 50, I think its more than reasonable considering what traders charge vs actual DHL rates

Traders don't always have everything we want, Jw. Trading section is only worth it to me in the $10 or less thread.

What are you talking about? I am referring to traders charge 8-9.00 to ship a BD out from germany, so the 14€ isnt far off from the actual cost. However say 10 movies would be 20-30€ and Amazon would be the same 14€...

Read the posts my friend, I never suggested once to use the trading forum

NEVER buy just 1 or 2 movies from Amazon.DE... Wait until you're ready to order at least 4 and it offsets the shipping charge...

I see. In that case it does make more sense. I never knew about this because I always wanted to buy just a single movie. So, based on one movie alone, €14-15 for shipping is a bit much. On the other hand buying 3-4 movies for the same shipping rate is not so bad. Thanks.
