Default Opinion: Best Wireless Router for PS3??

Would like to purchase one today. Thinking about the Linksys 802.11g $49.99 or the Buffalo Wireless-G High Speed Router (WHR-G125) for $24.99 @ CC. Thanks.

I'm using the D-Link DI-824VUP and the PS3 connected to it with no problems.

This model is probably discontinued, but it does provide all the WEP and WPA encryption and a hardware firewall as well as a wireless print router.

The print router is not really supported by the PS3.

I've been using this device for over 2 years and I had no problems with it.

The bottom line is... there isn't just one wireless router that will work efficiently with the PS3.

Go with the LYNKSYS one. It's a bleeding edge technology, but you might as well go with the most reliable brand. We have 5 of those in my family. No problems, yet.

Always liked Linksys until I got an Apple Airpot. I got the router with b/g/n --- n is flippin' fast! --- paired with FiOS it smokes. don't know what is in a PS3 though, but n is the future.

In particular and if you are willing to spend a few more $$$, go with the Linksys WRT150N Wireless N Home Router (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...blurayforum-20) This sucker is a workhorse. Some of the other Linksys routers are failing early or are flakey (such as the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router with SRX200 (WRT54GX2)). This one used to be a superstar but not any more.

I work in the IT industry and I have installed a ton of both (for friends ) and the WRT150N is solid as they come.

The best router would be the D-Link DIR-655 as it's the best performing router on the market.. http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=1&pid=530

While Linksys routers are nice none of them really perform very well.. Check the link below to see results on routers currently available..

I work in IT and I would recommend the Linksys WRT54GX4 if you can find it. It is out of production but it is by far the best Linksys router I have used and even better than my Linksys N router WRT350N (which was $149). It has great range and speed. BTW I have used all brands like, D-link, Netgear, Buffalo, Linksys, etc. and that one by far is the best one.

Same setup here, Apple Airport Extreme b/g/n, and a FiOS connection, it is great. Although the PS3 is 802.11b/g, not as fast as n but g is pretty good. Do you have FiOS TV too? It will soon be available in my area and am looking for any input before deciding? Thanks.

Get a Buffalo Technology router. The AOSS feature works great with the PS3. I have the WHRHPG54. My PC and PS3's wireless network was setup in about 5 minutes. I've had it for over a month now, and have not had a single little hiccup yet with the connection.

Apple Airport Extreme

I'm running draft-n to my laptops, g to my PS3 and iPhone, and Gig-E to my NAS and my home PC. It supports USB printer and USB disk as a NAS available to your whole network.
