Default PS3 and N Wireless Router ??

I recently had to buy a new wireless router and ended up buying a N Wireless Router. ( Belkin F5D8233-4 N Wireless Router )

Since the N Routers are backwards compatible with the G versions, it works great with my laptop, PSP, and PS3.

My question is: Could I plug in a USB Wireless N adapter in my PS3 to gain download speed for PS Network, etc.?

I was wondering about one thing if I upgrade to N before long: If I go N all the way and I have a PS3 in the other room on the network...isn't that going to slow the entire network down to g? (I believe that's what the PS3 is...)

Don't mean to hijack the thread but I think we can cover a few subjects at once in it.

Usually routers have mixed modes. Most G routers broacast in both B & G...

It looks that this router will be doing b/g/n at the same time. I could be wrong though, but when I did the set up it asked if I wanted the setting that would do all 3.

No, I don't think there's system software support for USB WiFi adapters like this.

Yes, like that one. It's only half the price on Amazon.com

I think you probably could gain a bit speed. Is there any way you can get your PS3 closer to your router?

You're right. There isn't support for that.

I would bet, in the future, something like this will be sold as an accessory for the PS3.

No, you will no pick up speeds. Also, in regards to N routers, if you broadcast anything but N, you will lose speed. If you broadcast in G and B, your N broadcast will take a big hit.

There is no point of getting an "N" router unless you have "N" equipment. Just stick with a "G" router and you'll be fine.

Well, I guess I'll just leave it the way it is.

My laptop sure likes it.
