Default About done with brick and mortar stores....

Is it just me or is every B&M store too overpriced (BB/CC), or never updates their stock (wally world).

I went to BB tonight to pick up Warhawk (sold out, they only had 4 copies in.....) so then I was like well I'll get some Blu's, well look at this its all 30-37 bucks....

So then took a lil trip to wally world(also sold out of warhawk) low and behold they havent updated their HD section of movies for about 2 months now.

If these stores want to survive they really need to start cutting down prices and actually stock up more on Blu's.

I enjoy buying from amazon, but are there any other sites out there that sell blu's for cheap? Would save me a lot of gas money and time waisted on overpriced items at the stores, thank you in advance.

Yeah, the B&M stores are way too overpriced. I try to only buy from Amazon.

i'm right there with ya. the closest walmart to me just got BD when Wild Hogs came out and the got TMNT with it. so they have a total of...2, that's it. As for a sale at BB or CC that would make you say,"wow!", don't hold your breath.

I buy from amazon.com as well, though if it is a title I want and can't wait for, I use Price Match at CC they also take off 10% of the difference, and if you go to target.com they have amazon's prices!! so I got Invincible marked at 29.99 at CC for $18

Same here... the local Sam Goody's has like 10 bd movies starting at $29.99 (get some of those 50% cheaper on Amazon) and go all the way up to $34.99 for 300 and Casino Royale!!!

Walmart is not too bad, good pricing, but the selection is just alright... probably around 25-30 different titles, new releases mixed with some older stuff.

I buy at Bestbuy from time-to-time to spread it around between online and local stores. I also have a problem with impulse purchases.

I usually use Amazon. Last week I used Buy.com, they had a decent selection for $15 and if you sign up for Google checkout you get $10 off your order. Also Deepdiscount.com has OK prices.

I think the problem is (here anyway) that everyone competes price-wise with Walmart... not each other. So until Walmart becomes serious about it and starts advertising lower prices, nobody else feels they have to either.

amazon is best. what i do sometimes is pull a price of a product from amazon and go to Best buy to have them match the price for me. and It works. when it comes to them stocking properly, they definitely suck.

I usually buy from Fry's, they tend to be about 5-10 dollars cheaper than BB or CC. I saw a copy of Planet Earth there for only $68(I think) as opposed to BB who wanted $99 for it! The same with the MI trilogy. Try here also, they tend to add more as they become available. They also had Smallville Season 6 for only $56.49! www.moretonbayblu-ray.com Just checked with them again and now Smallville is only $55.99 now.

Luckily, I have two Wal Marts within 10 minutes from my house and they both have a good selection of movies, and they have gotten all the new releases at the same time as the DVD's. I was starting to miss my midnight new releases, but they're back! And their prices are USUALLY within a dollar or two of Amazon. I think the most expensive movie they had was $29.99 and that was for Disturbia, which is expensive everywhere.

bb/cc wont be lowering the prices anytime soon. They have plenty of people that will buy the movies at the high prices. Remember there are people that dont buy things off the internet. I refuse to go to walmart for anything pretty much.

Target.com is the same as amazon by the way and overstock isnt bad. Deepdiscount used to be the best on many things but not since the beginning of the year really.

Frys is great but there are not many of them. Prices and selection are pretty good and it is by far the best B&M place around.

I can assure you, that you will not see any price breaks at BB and CC. Used to work for both. The only thing you may is BLU's that don't sell good like the other week @BB I got Black Hawk Down for $15. As far as the holdiay is concerned the strategy for salespeople will be to sell HD players for new TV's! Then when the evil sales clerk has you sold he can unload a couple of $27 movies on you then go to his boss (they have a good chuckle about the sale) then the clerk will come back out and tell he's got a deal for you half off one of the movies! Watch it happen! GOD those places SUCK!!

What I can't stand is how they are on you like a car salesman as soon as you walk in. Hey Goober, if I want help I will ask you for it. I quit buying anything at CC, and very rarely go to BB anymore. This was a big reason for it. Not to mention they all think they know everything about anything. Just let me go in get what I want and leave.

Best buy My manager used to tell me to greet then go back in 2min intervals if they didn't have a question! I would always tell him you can catch more bee's with honey.... (he did not understand what I meant) GOD RETAIL SUCKS!
