Default Sony KDL-46V2500 vs. KDL-46V3000

Hi folks... Trying to decide between the two, and at least at Circuit City there is a $400 price difference.

Sorry if this is a little off topic, but I use a projector for my blu-ray habit so this TV will be solely for use with the DirecTV HD-DVR - specifically for my NFL Sunday Ticket habit... :-)

Anyway, the biggest differences are a 10bit panel vs. 8 bit - couldn't tell a difference at Tweeter - they were side by side.

Next is 120hz vs 60hz. Again hard for me to tell the difference.

And finally the 3000 will display 1080p 24fps.

Since Directv is only 1080i I don't know that any of these differences really justify the price difference based on my planned usage.

Does anyone have either of these and can you provide any insight that might help justify the $400 that I am missing?

Thanks in advance for the help.

They are both 1080P but the v3000 is going to be a better picture. It has a much higher contrast ratio compaired to last years model (the v2500). Also they increased the speed of the bravia engine so in fast moving scenes you will see a difference. With the LCD if you have a slower processor to generate the imagine it can get pixelated. Otherwise those are the only MAJOR differences.

I have the V2500 (40"). It has a great picture and is Full 1080P. I would go with the new V3000 series if you can wing the extra $$$.

Thanks for the feedback folks.

Best Buy was able to price match Circuit City, so I got a great deal on the 3000.

Nice TV. Standard def directv looks blah. Installers aren't coming until 9/18 for HD. It will be a long wait!
