Angry Well, my 360 took a dump.

Well, my 360 took a dump and not the normal 3 red lights. It wont read the disks and it sounds like it is about to smash the disks I did put in it. Was always worried about the lights of death, guess there is more that one thing that can go wrong with the 360.

That doesn't apply to non-red ring of death problems.

No, I'm pretty sure they have to cover all defects if they are going to cover RROD. Of course, INAL.

You can send them into Microsoft for any major problem I think. The problem is just that it may take as much as 2 months for you to get it back. That is a hell of a long time to go without your gaming system. I had a 360 also and it crapped out on me too. Mine didn't have the red lights, it just had this problem with this disc tray where it would not open or close alot of the time, and sometimes it would shut down for no reason. Overall, the system still functioned but it was a pain in the ass to use. I just decided to say "eff microsoft" and got a PS3. I have been extremely happy ever since.

I'd call them and see. With all the bad pub, they may very well be willing to take it.

if it doesnt have the 3 red rings of death, then wrap a sweater around the unit and turn it on, it will eventually overheat and give you the ring of death and you can use the warranty for free again.

Yeah, I called them right after it happened and it turns out that the person I bought it from (I only paid $280 for it brand new, he won it in a raffle. the 20 GB model.) never registered it so I told them that I got it last month so it will be under warranty for another year.

The support tried to get me to put a disk in the thing and I finally had to yell are her and tell her I am not putting a $60 game in there just so it can shatter it. But everything is covered under warranty, I just have to pay shipping one way because I am overseas.

Trade it in and either wait for the newer models or just cash out.

Well my son's replacement X-Box went RROD yesterday, and now he is on his 3rd console. I feel so badly for him, but he really wants to play Halo...

At least he's learning the hard lesson on his dime. I on the other hand, continue to enjoy the Blu-Ray drive in my PS3, confident that it will just keep on running.

I really cant think of one x-box owner who has not at the very least had their x-box die on them atleast once, most it has happened multiple times.
