Default How can people think HD-DVD is better?

I was wondering how can people think blu-ray sucks.
1. we have more space on each disc
2 we can put games/music/videos on the discs
3.we have burners/camcorders
4.we have more studio and company support
5.we have way more players than them
6.More movies
7 we out sell them week after week
And alot more that I can't think of at the moment Please add to the list.

From what I've seen, it seems the people who hate blu-ray, hate it, not because they truly think HDDUD is superior, but rather that they are pro-M$ anti sony zealots and are blinded by that, so therefor hate it....not even realizing that sony only Helped develop it with Philips and doesn't benefit as much if blu-ray won, as Toshiba would if HDDVD won...

They know it's not better. They just think it's good enough.

I don't think Most HD-DVD people think HD-DVD is better.

You have the Sony haters.
You have the Blu-ray haters.
You have the early HD buyers (HD-DVD was out first) and now they don't wish to buy a 2nd format.
You have people who prefer the movies that are on HD-DVD over Blu-ray (I think most fit into this one)
You have people who bought HD-DVD Players because they're cheaper, so now there HD-DVD only.

I'm sure the list can go on.

which, unfortunately COULD turn the tides if enough ignorant potential buyers go for the cheaper. We need to educate the average Joe so they understand what they're buying. I am a Radio Personality and I sneak in my Blu-ray plugs carefully wherever I can. I obviously have to be careful and selective, but yeah, I do it...

It is not cheaper at all. Look at there 1080p player & the cost of the hddvd movies are eather the same as BD's or $5-10 more then BD's

The anti-Sony mentallity is a big part. I was on another board that was discussing whether or not it was worth it to get HD for Transformers. One guy said even if Blu-Ray one the format one he would NEVER buy a BD player or movie, because he claimed he had bought lots of Sony products that broke. I realized this guy has never had anything positive to say about any subject. I think he is going on my "ignore" list.

Default simple

ppl bring up the argument that it is cheaper to get a stand alone player, plus it is cheaper to create a multiple layer disc vs blu-ray.

Oh also the argument that it has more special features.

The specials featrues IMO is a moot point because blu-ray has not finalized the specs just yet .

As for production costs, im pretty sure economies of scale or gonna come into play since there is so much demand.

But blu-ray will win if they continue making business deals with other electronic companies and retailers. Point is price is not everything, their is also a percieved value, just look at the IPOD over priced piece of junk, yet ppl still flock over it.

When, I went to their store they had nothing but Blu displaying their movies!! NO sign of Toshiba dud player;

People who buy HD-DVD are cheap (or frugal). Now that they spent the money they don't want to see their investment go down the drain and will grasp at any straw to support their investment. I believe Blu-ray movies outsell HD-DVD since they buyers of the more expensive equipment have more discretionary income and are willing to invest in a quality product.

My take on the whole thing:

Early on, people out there thought "Sony is making a new format? Pshaw! Anyonez remember Betamax? More like BetaCRAP!! DURRP! I'm going to go invest in this other reddish-maroon piece of crap."

Some time goes by and person above things "Oh boy.. this isnt good... Sony's product is actually better... WAY better! But I've already invested so much... Well, people are keen to hate Sony these days, so I'll use that against them!" Instead of using statistics, I'll just badmouth the better format, and get people to believe HD is better! I mean, if you lie long enough, someone will no doubt begin to believe it."

And like lambs to the slaughter, HD fans ever where flocked to their red cases...

This is a bit of a redundant question. You can hardly get two people to agree that the sky is blue. People disagree about HD media for the same reasons they disagree about Presidential candidates or political issues. People create their own opinions whether they are ill-informed or not.
