Default Blockbuster is going blu

hey all, went down to rent a few movies yesterday at my blockbuster in NH here and they now have a section with some blu ray movies for rental. the lady told me they were a bit higher to rent than regular dvd's ($5.50) per rental. but i think this is a great sign.

also i had gone to sears to check on a few plasma prices and asked the sales guy about what he see's selling more HD or Blu ray and he started in on HD and telling me what a great price they have on the players and he said they have more movies out, and i said WHAT??? have you been looking around? blu ray movies have way more out for titles, they are selling like hot cakes and they have like 5 or 6 movie companies behind them including disney. he did not have much to say after that. i hope i informed him a little more so he can tell more customers about blu ray...

we shall see

GO BLU!!!

Dont feel too bad, they were a tad harsh on you.

It really is old news to most of us, but if you JUST got blurays at your local BB it is big news, and I can definitely see why you're excited.

And good job schoolin that salesperson, its scary to think just how many salespeople out there dont know the slightest thing about what they;re selling.

Oh calm down... It is harmless. This is light hearted. It is better than the FUD that causes panics on this site.

And people wonder why other forums post bad stuff about this site. Sorry if you feel that way, but they really are only kidding.

Take it easy Matty! They are just being hard on you cause this news was reported months ago. We have a lot of threads on it and you should do a search for an existing thread before you start another on the same topic. You should also know that we already know Sears isn't very knowledgeable about anything HD. They are just there to sell TVs and players, so they don't really know anything.
Just don't leave on that note, they will be nice to you. It is actually a really good forum when you get past the occasional re-posted hazings.

It really doesnt matter if its Sears or not, the vast majority of employees at any store that sells electronics dont seem to know much about the products, especially not the "background" stuff like studio support, #of movies, quality of movies and industry support, and sales figures. If salespeople actually knew these things you'd have very few, if any, ever recommending hddvd.

And you're welcome Matty
