Disney Pearl Harbor (2001)

I watched Pearl Harbor on BLU last night and it sure looked nice.

The movie was a 3 of 5 for me (all the overblown romance lines hurt the film).

I really enjoyed the 30-whatever minutes when the Japanese flew into Pearl Harbor.

The detail was outstanding.

Can't wait to see the BLU version of Letters from Iwo Jima.

Both are stunning films that look awesome on blu. Pearl Harbor has to be one of the best looking out there. I agree as well I just went to the attack scene I was like I dont want to see romance this is an action flick.

My wife loves the whole film, so I was stuck.

Some of the romance is fine for the story, but damn they overdid it. Each line feels like a cheesy advertisement for the latest perfume.

I'm watching the other film tonight. I have about 25 unopened Blu-rays and counting. Time to get busy.

Michael Bay's 'Pearl Harbor', the story of how the Japanese bombed an American Love Triangle. My girlfriend loves this movie, I get to watch it frequently. I am not a big fan of the film, I bought it so she wouldn't be so mad that I spent $3000 on a television.

Funny thing I'm as female and really I cant stand romances and crap like that. Give me an action movie any day of the week before a romance. It's kinda like watching a comedy in HD as well whats the point ya know.

My wife and I watched the Prestige last night and the clips of Pearl Harbor shown in the BD preview were impressive. Shame about the story but we may end up getting it eventually.

This was like my second purchase or maybe third BD. I love everything about this movie. I know the romance sometimes gets a bit overplay but i still like it . Then again i like anime.

I thought that Jennifer Garner was the best part of the film, and she has a small role.

I thought the flying scenes and battleship row shots were great, but the historical accuracy sucked. It does look good in Blu, however.

People say the lines were sappy, but they were based on actual letters between WWII GIs and their wives and girlfriends. I guess you can get a little sappy knowing you could be sent off to possibly die and never see your lover again.

The problem with movies that take major historical events that people remember and wrap them around fiction is that the actual event seems almost blasphemous. Braveheart wrapped historic events around fiction, but nobody remembers the actual events. Visual and audio for this movie was unbelievable. I like it because my girlfriend likes it, she tells me I have no other choice.

This was one of the first BD movies I bought, and the one that got me hooked on Blu-ray. The PQ of the Pearl Habor invasion is awesome.

It may look good, but so do a bunch of other blu-ray movies!! Nobody could have said it better than Trey Parker and Matt Stone did with that song in Team America....

If only the movie were better, I'm not buying it just for PQ.

How about buying it for the PQ and SQ? I just thought the disc itself was topnotch. And yeah, I got it as part of the free BD offer.

I probably wouldn't either. But the movie is a 3.5 out of 5 for me.

I can watch it once per year.

Did anyone else notice this in the movie:

When Ben got shot down by the German it was day time. When he comes up for air out of the water it's night.

Did he hold his breath for an hour or more?
