Default Vizio vs Philips

I currently have a Vizio VU42LF I am not real happy with

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...lang=en-US&s=1

I am thinking about returning it and buying a Philips 42PFL7422D/37

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...=1&topnav=&s=1

Is the Philips going to be much better at 200$ more? The Vizio is not very good as a computer monitor.. I am happy with it for blu-ray but I have a feeling the Philips color and sharpness will be more apparent and I wouldn't mind spending a tad extra for a better tv and better brand name. The Philips has overall better stats too.

Anyone compared in a good environment? Suggestions?

My wife and I brought 42" philips flat hdtv, and we are satisfied what we have now. However, in the future, I would buy samsung hdtv. I can see difference in samsung and philips on blu ray. I realized that we should had brought samsung in the first place. I also have 26" magnavox flat hdtv that we brought ($300) from target for our bedroom. Quality of that hdtv is "so-so" and we wiill give it to our daughter in the future, if it will last longer?

I have almost the same TV but mine is with the Ambilight and 8000:1 Dynamic contrast and I love, Blu ray looks really good on it. I love Phillips. Samsung is a better TV overall based on numbers but the picture almost looks the same as my phillips on blu-ray. Buy the phillips!

Id rather go with Samsung than Philips. My B/f works for Magnolia and we took are sweet a-- time to judge all the TV's before making a decision. Our first choice was a Pioneer Elite but it was a bit out of our range. We then decided to go with the Samsung 4061 and the Panasonic DMP-BD10 and our bedroom totally kicks.

In my opinion Samsung just make the best moderate price TV's in the market
