'Vacancy' being released in Australia in December - Blu-ray Forum

Hi all,

I can't believe it but Australians are still having to wait like another 2 months before we get 'Vacancy' on Blu-ray!!! No wonder I couldn't find it anywhere. Why do you think that is? Didn't the US get it a few months ago? Very weird.

Its a pity Blu-ray isn't region free.

Hi Voorhees,

Yeah it is a shame it's not region free. At least we'll get it eventually I guess.

december 19th on ezydvd folks im buying this for sure! cheers op iv'e been waiting for this title.

hopefully this will just be the start of australia catching up with american titles. really wanting to own "the lives of others".

Well i guess Australia did better this time under Blu-ray region zoning than we did DVD:

DVD REGION 4: Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico, Oceania, and South America (except French Guiana)

Region B BLU-RAY: Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

I think I need to polish up on my Geography because i thought only Penguins & a few Eskimos lived in Greenland, but the powers that be must expect them to be a Blu-ray buying stronghold

hey mate welcome to the forums , although blu ray does use region locking a great deal of the titles are region free.
