Default A Purple Rain Is Gonna Come

Well guys I'm probably gonna get crap of you all but I decided to turn purple on Saturday after months of saying that I never would. I figured I love movies and I want the best of both worlds. Blu Ray is still my main format choice, so anything released on both formats I'll get on blu and anything I know that will be coming to blu I'll wait for (The Matrix and Batman Begins for example)

I got myself the 360 add on with Transformers and Knocked Up. I am pleased with my purchase and now I have the best of both worlds.

Whatever floats your boat. How many BOGO BDs could you have bought for the price of that red player?

Let's just put this out here for the obvious posts that would soon be to follow once more posters log-in: This does not require negative posts and personal attacks, so keep it civil, people! We don't attack our own, and we don't need any accusations of being a troll, or a traitor, or anything crazy like that.

Having said that, I would like to add this to others considering doing the same: This line of action only perpetuates the format war. While I understand wanting to see favorite movies in HD, this does not help in the end. All it does in the end is tell manufacturers and studios that the market might be able to support two different formats, which we all know is ridiculous.

So to the rest of the blu community: Hold your ground! When Blu-ray ultimately defeats DUD in this war, ALL titles will be available in our format. All it takes is patience and persistence.

Sorry JHansla, no hate towards you, but I'd prefer not to see this kind of behavior spread, and as a senior member, I think that your actions might sway others to do the same.

I have to agree. With the action you had taken JHansla you are prolonging the format war so thanks for that. I am still staying Blu til the end and won't ever support the inferior format.

Let me say this.....this was my decision I do not expect or want anyone to follow my footsteps unless it is there decision. Like I said before Blu Ray will always be my number 1 format choice, I know it only perpetuates the war but I love movies...lol. I have over 150+ Blu Ray disks, and 2 HD-DVDs so I assure everyone I fully support blu ray, however I just wanted to have it all I guess.

Groovyone I had pretty much all of the titles that were BOGO

A couple of questions.

1) Are you going to change your avatar picture? I would personally appreciate it if you would.

2) If the movies you have bought on hd-dvd eventually come out on Blu, what will you do?

3) If the format war continues for a long time, will you regret helping it by buying both?

Spoken like a true blu-blood. Glad to have you on the team.

As for Jhansla, let's get him! ..................
Kidding dude, even half blu is bluer than red. I will admit I am half tempted simply for Shrek 1-3 and TransDUDers. But then I'll start saying to myself, just one more, just one more.

But, as a blu-blood, I resist tempation with new and better BD movies.

He's only getting the best of one world. And "good enough" of the other.

I've weighed up going dual format, but the cost and inconvenience of a second player, and the thought of how many Blu-ray titles I could pick up for the same price, keeps me BD exclusive.

No I haven't sold out for two movies. There are a lot of good movies out on HD-DVD, that is what I based my decision on.

Thanks Tron! Proud to be a member!

And for all those starting the hating already, please stop... I'm hoping that this has just been misunderstood joking, but I'm seeing a lot of negativity already...

I have no ill will towards you but people like you are not helping the overall HD disc media cause. You are prolonging the war and weakening the winners ability to succeed as a viable mass public accepted format Which at this time is blu-ray.
