Default Watch Spider-Man 3 for the first time on BD

I really dont understand what was so bad about the movie, it felt like the same calibur as the first 2, the action scenes were just as enjoyable as the old ones if not better. Yes there were some cheesy scenes, but it was not too bad to hide away from the story and action.

Ppl just have too high expectations.

I would say watching spiderman 3 for the first time felt like watching transformers a 2nd time.

I am a fan.

Are you a comic fan?

I'm a comic fan, just not specifically Spiderman. I enjoyed the movies, and three was my favorite of all of them.

My brother is not a big comic dork like myself, and he had the same reaction. That it just seemed just like the other movies.

The problem was that everyone was expecting a Black Spiderman/Venom movie. Sam Raimi wanted to make a Sandman movie. The studio was aware fans wanted to see Black Spiderman/Venom and they knew this could have been the last movie, they also felt Sandman would not have been a good lead villian. So the studio made Raimi put Black Spiderman/Venom in the movie agianst his wishes, but he made Venom take a back seat to Harry and Sandman. Bottom line is people expected to see a Black Spiderman/Venom movie from the trailers and all, but what they go was an Emo Peter and about 11 minutes of the Venom fight scene.

All I have to say is that in the first 5 minutes, a steel-support beam for a building swung out of control and cleanly 'cut' through 5+ beams of an adjacent building. Not to rag on you or anyone else that enjoyed this movie, but this movie lost my interest after that. And I didn't give the rest of the movie much of a chance after that point. I know it was a science fiction movie; I just had higher expectations from it.

Basically Venom is the coolest if not the main Spider-man villian. I grew up on this stuff and when the first Spider-man movie came out I said to my friends "I can't wait for them to do one with Venom." Spider-man 3 was advertised as the Black Spider-man/Venom movie and I only saw him for about 11 minutes. Sandman is a villian I never really liked or carred to see but he takes up most of the movie. Also the whole Emo thing wasnt popular.

I missed Spiderman 3 at the theaters so I've really been looking forward to seeing it. I just finished watching it a little while ago and really enjoyed it. Spiderman was one of my favorites growing up though so I'm probably a little biased in that regard.

See my problem is the CG... yes, nothing in this movie could really happen. But does it have to look as fake as it actually is? Like the rubber stretch armstrong fight at the beginning of the movie... Come on now...

I'm a bit lost, too:

From the swan-dive it took in theaters, I stuck the disk in expecting a nuclear shark-jumping implosion of "Fantastic Four" proportions, and got...pretty much a straight entry.
Granted, only halfway through it, but it didn't feel "assaultingly" SFX-overcluttered like Pirates 2 or 3, wasn't as gratuitously downbeat as Batman Returns, and the "Poor Peter's private life" subplot wasn't nearly as wrist-slitting or film-dragging as Spidey2's. Just...a straight sequel entry, with maybe a few too many plots in it.
I'd read the reviews, but the Harry/Goblin plot didn't come off as goofy as it should have, and MJ singing seemed perfectly in plot....So what was the big hoo-hah that crippled Sony at the box office last summer??

(In fact, given that I'm probably the only person on this thread who hated Spidey2--and thought the obnoxious poor-Peter subplot cut the legs out from under what should've been the best villain of the series--I think we may be seeing some delayed-reaction hostility to #2's dreary subplot psychologically sublimating itself into a homicidal kill-frenzy against the MJ-Gwen-Peter-Harry subplot:
No one wanted to admit it at the time, but now it's allll coming out...)

as a structural engineer, i can say that is possible if it falls great enough...however..

if u are complaining about the possibility of that in a movie, you might want a look at the possibility of a spiderman, black goo, and a man with sand arms from a scientific experiment. yeah. welcome to the cinema

The opening action scene was A+. The rest went downhill. The whole movie was corny basically. I just didn't buy it like I did the other movies. Sandman was SO lame.. and corny. I could have cared less if he lived or died. The script was subpar and overly dramatic (corny) which made the acting suffer. The tone of the movie when not in action was very direct-to-video feeling.

Also, somehow Peter is allowed back into that bar at the end even though he went bat shit in there earlier. Peter's character when in "badass" mode was really lame from character and appearance (hair), and the ending between Sandman and Peter doing a quick -I dont want to kill you anymore- was lame.. again just a bad script! The conversations between Peter and Harry were poorly scripted. Many times while watching the movie I just have to put my head in my hands and go "what the hell did they just do?". And wtf is up with Sandman being this big sand monster? Man I could go on..

I've been a huge fan of the Spidey comics for a long time, and I think 3 is pure garbage. Terrible pacing, and the cheesiness was at an all-time high.

i loved sandman.. i wish he was in it himself... no venom.. i love venom and he deserves his own movie entirely.. the venom in spiderman3 was like a complete dork... and not just when he was on peter, Venoms a crazy killer thats scary not some pansy who holds down spiderman so sandman can touch him? on the shoulder (that part of the fight scene was sooooooooooo weak)

anyway would rather have had them each have their own movie

At last, someone who thinks the same about these movies as me!!! Spiderman 1 is my favourite, Spiderman 2 did very little for me, and Spiderman 3 was somewhere between the two, probably closer to Spiderman 1.

Except for the last 15 minutes and Parker dancing, SM3 is non-stop entertainment.

I'll probably watch it tomorrow. When I first saw it in theaters, I thought that the movie was visually pleasing. However, I felt that the pace of the movie was a bit herky jerky, giving me a slight headache. Or maybe I was just in a bad mood because the people behind me were disruptive throughout the entire show in the theaters.

I'm not sure, but I didn't feel that there were any vibes between Peter and Mary Jane this time around. I definitely could sense the electricity between them in part 1 and somewhat in part two. But in part three, it wasn't there at all.

The best part of the movie, for me, however, was the ending. The friendship between Peter and Harry.

Why do people not remember that Spider-man is supposed to be corny, and it's not supposed to take itself to seriously. I didn't watch this in the theaters because I got sick of Maguire, but I think S3 is my favorite in the series now.
