Samsung BD-P1000 firmware help plz !!!

Hello , I am new to the forums here and have a question , I bought Spider-man 3 lastnight to find it wont play on my player here. I read up on the net a little to find i needed a firmware update as I had never updated my player before. So I got the newest firmware update for this , 1.2 i believed copied to a disk with my iso program and the player spits it back out at me and says cannot read disc. Well i thought maybe i burned it wrong and remembered a disc that came with my player when i bought it in Jan / 07. Sure enough a firmware update , 1.0 was in my players box still unopened. I figured i'd run that for now and see if it helped , well it spit it back out as well and said the same thing , Disc cannot be played. I called samsung and they wanna send me the newest disc even though i'm sure it wont play and if that doesnt work wanna have me send it in. Anyone else have the same problem or heard of this problem that has a easier fix ?

Have you tried to play other type of media? Audio CD? DVD? just to make sure it's not the player being bad. If it can play the audio cd and a normal dvd then I would think there is something wrong with the update cd's.

it might be the disc because the latest firmware update i have is 1.1 and spidey 3 played fine on my player

Well I know regular dvd's play on it fine i've played a lot of those , I havent tried a audio cd which i can try here in a bit. But between the 2 cd's i copied with the firmware update from the web and the one from samsung it would be weird odds for all 3 to be bad. Ill post back once i've tried a audio CD.

Just checked and no I can't play any audio cd's with the player , should i be able to ?
