Default Blu-ray still my fav! But how many of us are "dual" now?

Please don't get me wrong - I still prefer Blu-Ray.

But for $99, I felt it was worth having an HD player just for the odd HD film. I know it probably won't last a month, as it can't be as well built as my Samsung BD player. It's just to play the odd film that I've been hankering after.

I can't believe I'm the only one that has picked one up, though. Has anyone else done the same?

No, we're not fueling this war unless it's blu. Thank you.

I thought about it, but decided it was better to use the money to buy 5 more blu-ray titles. There are only so many titles to watch on that thing.

I'll stay Blu.

My "conditions" of support are:

- Warner needs to stay a Blu Ray supporter (no objections if they remain neutral)
- No defections or neutrality by Blu Ray exclusive studios
- Paramount or Universal needs to support Blu Ray by Q1 2009

If the BDA can do this I'm happy.

I didn't consider going dual for even a second. I refuse to fund the continuation of this format war by giving Toshiba any of my money.

A FREE player still wouldn't sway me. Maybe if Disney, Fox and Sony swiched, so would I.

You could have simply just waited a little bit to watch said titles because it will be on the winning format anyways. This only gives Tosh more fuel to continue the war, in the end though it really doesn't matter since these are out of print and there are only so many around. I'm sure you'll buy more Blu titles anyway. BTW you should at least wait for the Blu versions of Matrix, BB, etc. as they might have better specs.

Troll, troll, troll......what's with all these new members making posts about their decisions to go out and buy a HD DVD player claiming "neutrality".

This isn't about "brand loyalty" folks. None of us are getting paid for the purchases we make. HOWEVER. By supporting both brands you are single handedly prolonging this war. The market can only support one format, and that format will not be chosen as long as you continue to spend recklessly.

Instead you make glutenous decisions claiming you HAVE to have every single movie you want. If you would practice a little patience then a movie like "Batman Begins" will be release on Blu Ray once Warner sees the continued dominance of the brand.

I you LOVE the releases on HD DVD so much...then go support that brand exclusivley and leave the Blu Rays to us. Just know that those discs you covet so greatly will turn out to be nothing more than expensive drink coasters.

I was close, but our peeps here talked me out of it. You wouldn't be helping yourself. The war will last that much longer and then you would probably have to buy other stuff as well. Such as an HDMI switcher for the extra input and for those who have 2 inputs on their TV's what happens to your digital HD satellite or HD cable connection?

Not worth the trouble of spending another $200-$300 changing my entire entertainment center for a couple of movies that will be available 2 years from now.

I would never waste my money on junk like that. Why would I anyway when DUD will soon be gone and I will have all the movies I want on Blu-ray.

I went neutral; like the Op said it was too good an offer to pass up. I prefer blu and desire it's victory. but I like Paramount and Universal movies as well.

Doesn't sound like a troll to me.

OP - it was a tempting offer, but Combo Player is the only way I would have HD-DVD Player. The price of these combo players are so high, I'll just stick with Blu-ray. I see 2008 as the down fall of one of the HD Formats; I'm guessing it will be HD-DVD.

Funnily enough, last time I checked all those Universal and Para***** movies were available on DVD. You didn't need to waste $100 of an HD DVD player.

If you really desire Blu's victory, you should've put your money where your mouth is and spent that $100 on Blu-ray movies.

These "trolls" or DUD supporters or what ever you want to call them are trying to stir up trouble and/or support for their terrible format of choice.
