Default Future Shop is lowering prices in Canada!

Future Shop is lowering their prices because the Canadian dollar is at par with the American dollar. I might be shopping at Future Shop alot more!

They still have a 10% premium on player prices compared with the USD price...

Sweet, I never shopped at FutureShop, thought their prices were ridiculously high but I'll have to check them out soon again.

I noticed that some things like Sony HDDV cams were cheaper at Bestbuy Canada than either Best Buy USA or Futureshop and this was before the Canadian dollar went above par.

It really depends on where the product is coming from.

They say they are going to lower prices, just to make themselves look good. In actuality, they will only lower the price on a few things. If they are going to drop the prices with the stronger Canadian dollar, they should start with the Blu Ray movies. $32.99 for Underworld is plain ridiculous

This is reassuring news. As much as I like to save money, I hate having to spend it all in the US.

That's what the crooks at Walmart, Zellers, Future Shops and Best Buy were waiting for. All of this lip service about realigning prices has still not happened on 99% of the products that they sell. It's funny how Future Shops do a BOGO sale and their prices mysteriously go from $29.99 a title to $34.99 or $32.99 per title. Robbing Bastards!

This is a marketing ploy...prices really haven't changed that much. DVDs and BDs are still expensive here in Canada compared to US.

I stopped buying from the B&M stores about a month ago... everything is now purchased on Amazon. I just love the selection, on-line service, and pricing. They lost me as a customer.

Too late, so sorry... I've quite taken to this whole amazon.com thing... If there's something that I just *must* have and it so happens to be in stock i'll swing by the mall and check out BB and FS to see if it's there. More often than not they are out of stock so amazon.com and a slight shipping delay wins.

You can't beat Amazon.com. Better prices, U.S. exchange, no sales tax and shipped from Canada. What a way to get around the tax system and border problems. I've become very enchanted with them lately. Beats going to my P.O. Box, in New York State, to pick up my orders from Warner Home Video. I even have to pay the N.Y. State sales tax, then deal with the tax collectors at the border. Who needs it! Amazon does the job, in spades!
