Default Onkyo 605 Video problems...

I just got my new Onkyo reciever, and attached it to my setup (PS3 and XBR), where those are ran through HDMI, and my cable which is attached through component (red, blue, green) to the reciever, which then exits to the TV through the HDMI (i.e. it is upconverted).
However, this upconversion, completley ruins my signal. Colors become all messed up (high red) and the size of the picture changes, causing significant loss around the picture borders.
Has anyone experienced this? Is it common? Any suggestions on how to approach this?

Thanks a bunch

does your tv have an HDMI input?

no sense "upconverting" your already HD Component signal through the receiver...just run component to the TV. (keep the HDMI cable for audio though.)

the 605 can only upconvert to 720p.
