Question Wal*Mart not carrying Cast Away or Smith?

Went to Walmart yesterday and they didn't have Cast Away or Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Just Superbad and POTC 3. I looked on their website and they have no listing for either movie.

For those that have been to Walmart did you find either of these BDs?

You know I don't recall seeing Cast Away at my Wal-mart last night, just Superbad and POTC.

.......

My walmart carries crap in terms of HD. They simply think people are not ready for it yet and won't stock it. But what they did have were all BD and no HD DVD.

If the Wal-mart in question only has a small section for High Def Media, then it would be unlikely that they have catalog titles the day they come out. Luckily the one near me has a cool display with half for both formats. Still get better prices online though.

My Walmart doesn't carry either format - Blu or HD-DVD. They have a good selection of HD-DVD players (no blu-ray players) but no movies of either kind.

I don't think this is just a Walmart problem. I've noticed a lot of the major chains like Target, Walmart, Fry's, Best Buy, and Circuit City do not release bd's for the older titles on the appropriate release date.

Yeah, they're catalog titles, which means most stores aren't in a big rush to get them. It's always more difficult to find catalog titles on their release day.

When I got Pirates yesterday at Best Buy I did look for Cast Away and Mr &Mrs Smith and they didn't have them. Was going to get all 3 at once. How can we kill HD DUD when we can't get the movies we want when they are released.
