Default DO these people honestly think Warner will go HD-DVD exclusive?

On the "other" forum and in CES prediction threads, I am constantly amazed at how many say Warner is soooo ready to go HD-DVD exclusive. When I'm at that forum, I do try and be nice and add to the conversation, but when I see those comments all I want to do is respond with a "what are you smoking".

Im just curious if you think these really truly do believe that or if they say it just to make themselves feel better and make bluray fans on edge?

Frankly, its just boggling to me how ANYONE can think that Warner is going HD-DVD exclusive.

Both, they are very self-deluded people that are in complete DENIAL. They cannot accept the FACT that this is indeed imminent.

Also, Disney is going dual format. Again, just like at CES 2007. Blu-ray is ready to fall!!!

I dont know what I find more annoying, Disney going neutral or Warner going HD-DVD exclusive.

Disney going neutral is less likely than Universal going neutral. The difference being is that there is evidence out there that suggests that Universal is at least think about going neutral. (bluray plant snooping)

This will all happen around the time when M$ pay Sony Pictures $1Billion to go HD-DVD exclusive.

Disney going neutral is totally preposterous too. After all one of the big beefs of this format war is Microsoft being pissed off about Disney and their AVC codec. I don't think they like each other much.

I dont think any of the companies from one camp like the other right now.
MY only real concern at this point is that MS could be ponying up a HUGE package to a bluray company to get them to drop bluray.

Thats really the only concern I have right now.

But don't you know that Disney voted on the TL-51? It's all about disc space! (Except that you don't really need more, 30 GB is enough, just not for Disney!! Don't you see the logic in that?)

It's not about bandwidth, Java, region coding, copy protection, or the whole industry getting behind one format, no, it's ALL about the TL-51! Except, as I said, you don't really need it. Except Disney. And now they're going dual format, by GAWD! GOD WILLS IT!!! (Oh yeah, the prediction that Fox is going neutral is also particularly amusing.)

Nah, don't think it will happen again. I think with all the fallout and pissed off people behind the scenes after the Paramount deal, I don't think another company will follow in their footsteps.

I lean blu-ray but own both formats and try to be as objective as possible when looking at the facts and I completely agree that I can't see any rationale person looking at the facts and the HDM war as it stands and not conclude that Blu-ray will come out the winner.

I do think that many people honestly believe the nonsense they're spreading across the net... but only because they've been told to beleive it by "insiders" and other leaders (read: paid viral marketers) who collectively make up the HD DVD "brain" FUD trust. Anytime you get Microsoft involved you are bound to get this kind of "leadership" all across the internet.

Have you ever wondered why most neutral sites seem to lean toward the red side even though far more people own and buy Blu? Ever wondered how M$ gets away with releasing a game console with an over 30% failure rate within the first year of ownership, and have it go virtually unreported by the major press? It's Microsoft -- they're an internet cult.

They (the "insiders" and the paid shills) prey upon the weak and those incapable of thinking for themselves and convince them that only Microsoft knows what's best for consumers and that their glorious corporation can do no wrong. They attempt to use their own shortcomings against their competitors (TL51 holds more than BD50 -- even though it doesn't exist, OSX Leopard is nothing but a pretty interface on an older OS, etc), and attempt to censor all news that doesn't portray their side positively (XBox 360 hardware problems, Nielson VideoScan numbers and commentary from REAL "insiders" over on that other forum).

If an average consumer stays on the parts of the internet where the cult leaders rule supreme, and the news is heavily filtered to portray their side as doing better than it actually is, then you can see how they can be fooled into believing just about anything they're told to. That's the way M$ plays the game... and they're very good at it. And if a site/person/move studio needs more incentive to follow M$'s lead, they aren't afraid to write a check for whatever it takes.

Honestly, the fast that any real information gets out there is somewhat remarkable.

Yes they honestly think that. People think all sorts of things that are crazy and things that would make Warner picking HD DVD look like the most rational decision in the world.

Well, did anyone think Paramount/Dreamworks had a snowball's chance in hell of going HD-DVD exclusive when they did? Anything can happen in this format war when you've got company's as dirty as Toshiba and Microsoft, who willingly break anti-consumer laws in a desperate attempt to win/cause stalemate etc.

They could easily break the bank in an attempt to get Warner to go exlclusive, and let's face it Warner has favoured HD-DVD for a long time, for whatever reason. Even tho a few big HD-DVD supporters left to pursue "other oppotunities" Warner execs could still harbour some sort of HD-DVD favouritism.

Obviously the most sensible decision for the future of the industry is to go Blu-Ray exclusive and end this war, but the most sensible decision is rarely made in life.

But yeh, these ppl who are certain Warner will go HD-DVD exclusive are ignorant morons and it's just deluded hopeful thinking to make themselves feel better. They're scared... because BD is destroying HD-DVD and they know if the sensible decision is made, their favorite format is finished.

But alas, nothing is certain, anything can happen, we just have to wait till CES or possibly beyond.

I try and be a good winner, but I seriously will want to go to AVS and laugh up a storm when Warner goes bluray exclusive.

Thats how sad things have gotten, but who knows maybe Ill be nice to them.

Yes, I was banned yesterday for 3 days cause I posted things about BD at CES along with the threads about the article for Warner and BD(that they continue to delete). I read one guys post in the CES thread where he predicted, Disney goes neutral, Fox goes neutral, and Warner goes exclusive to HD-DVD.

definitely disney going neutral... I backed BD because of disney. and it would be annoying if they support the other side. The approval of 51GB might trigger red ants to think about this

logically, warner would be picking BD as their exclusive format. BD has won every single week in 2007 even with higher price. Is that telling something?
HD DVD gave a lots of offer, still can't manage to beat BD sales.

However, anything can happen. Just like paramount buyout (while para started to show a stronger support to BD by including better audio)

I have no idea why HD DVDers think that WB will go HD Exclusive. They obviously do not realize that WB WANTS a format to win so they can make more money in the movie market. Going to HD DVD would only cease the HD Video market from ever happening besides Digital Distribution. Obviosly the people at WB are not mindless beings and know that going BD would end the HD war and BD would then take off even more so and become the norm for WB to make millions and millions off of.
