PS3 vs. PS2 Online Gaming? - Blu-ray Forum

Hey, I've never played online before, but have a question. If I have a PS3, and my brother in LA has a PS2, is it possible to play online against each other using a PS2 game on both systems? For instance, SOCOM?

If so, also recommend any great online PS2 games to do this! Thanks guys.

That's a good question actually.. never thought about it. As long as the PS2 games can detect the connection you should be able to... because since there was no online NETWORK before, each game had to connect to a specific server.

I know the PS Network stays active when you play PS1/PS2 games, because I've seen the notifications for friends coming online. Best thing is to just give it a shot-- but I'm sure someone here will let you know if they've tried it.

I'd kinda like to know that too, seeing as how i went all out back in the day ot buy the slim one with the network connection in it, but it required so many network addresses I couldnt ever get it set up.
