Default Tower of Screaming Virgins (1968)

SNAPPY VIDEO: Tower of Screaming Virgins pre-order (BDR only)
The resurrected Snappy Video is offering a pre-order of its first release of the swash-buckling, grindhouse/drive in classic, 'Tower of Screaming Virgins' (1968). It is a single BDR Disc, newly scanned from the best materials between two 35mm prints. It is presented it its original aspect ration (1:85). It comes in a standard Blu-ray Case. The release is in conjunction with George Unum.

This release is a limited edition, and it's hard to say if there will be more than 100 copies made. It's an experiment to see what the market may be for these types of releases. If it manages to get over 100 orders, we'll replicate it and send everyone the replicated version as well.

Screen caps will be posted soon!

It is $14.95 plus shipping.

Details here!

Ordered! Hopefully you hit the 100 mark so we do get the replicated discs. I assume there aren't any extras?

I gather that those of us without specific Paypal accounts won't be able to purchase this?

I have purchased via Paypal as a "guest" in the past, but don't wish to open a direct account with them.

I like this flick, it's pretty entertaining, Alexander Dumas taken the late 60's exploitation route. I have seen a nice looking German tv broadcast and look forward to the caps.

The link above says pre-orders were only available until the end of March, so I ordered from Amazon. Does this count towards the replicated copy threshold?

I actually received mine today and despite it being the first BD-R I've ever owned, I'm quite looking forward to checking this film out this week.

I'm only just tripping over this message for the first time. I would totally have been interested in a replicated disc.

Mondo-Digital review

Quote:
Though some age-related imperfections are sometimes in evidence (the occasional scratch or bit of dirt), the colors in this are quite astounding and really, really intense. The effect is like a candy-colored fairy tale, which makes this quite a different viewing experience from what we've had in the past. A few scenes show some signs of color degradation where the whites have gone a kind of off-yellow, but it's mostly confined to the last act of the film and doesn't last all that long. The LPCM mono track features the familiar English dub, which is pretty well done and a few notches above average for its era.
