I just finished watching it too. I was about to start a thread. This movie was good. Sure, there could of been more action scenes but aside from that the story wasn't bad. I sure didn't see that ending coming and I liked it. It was wayyyy better than the last Stratham/Li movie "THE ONE".

Definitely the best of the three movies to come out this week. Didn't expect the plot twist towards the end.

Shoot Em Up was fun while it lasted (86 mins.) and the over the top action sequences and corny one liners got a tad stale towards the end.

That brings us to Resident Evil : Extinction....what to say...what to say. Um...thank god I rented it? Yeah, that'll do.

I thought there was good action, but felt they rushed action in and left story out. The story kinda jumped from here to there. Just my .02 For a movie to have Jason Statham and Jet Li, I was expecting WAY MORE! Two great action stars...

you guys make me feel better, I have been waiting for this for a while. (en route from Amazon) but like a week ago I saw a thread where a lot of people said it wasnt' that good of a movie at all. I think I will enjoy it, I like both actors a lot, especially statham. Liked transporter 1 and 2 and Crank. Turn off the brain and enjoy the ACTION.

War was very good. But shoot'em up was excellent. I hope there is a War sequel in the works. I bet stathem returns. plus the chick will try to get her revenge.

Yeah, that really surprised me as well.

Anyway, I enjoyed the movie. Good action flick with a nice twist.

Cool

War was good, I may add it to my collection. But Shoot'em Up was dumb. I like Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti but the one liners they spewed made the whole movie ridiculous. I didn't even get to the end of this one.

The plot twist near the end of War was pretty ridiculous, but it was a satisfying ending. I wish Jet Li and Jason Statham fought a bit more though. They had very few fist-to-fist encounters in the film.

I dont remember Stratham being in The One. I thought this was their first venture together.

Wow...interesting. I heard it was one of the worst movie of the year on other forums...and now I hear about this. You guys might have convinced me to pick it up.

I just saw ShootEm' Up and I would ranked that movie as one of the worst action movie I have seen lately. Parachute shooting? LOL Picking up babies on the ground while driving? LOL...that movie was a pure COMEDY...I found myself laughing than enjoying it. Just terrible! My 2 cents...just be warned I think the best part of the movie is the 1 minute sex scene with that Maria chick...she's HOT for her age.

Thank goodness I wasn't the only one that thought the movie was terrible from the beginning to the end. Seriously...I think that movie was a comedy...I swear...I laugh at EVERY action scenes.

- oil sliding shots
- drying up the gun from the bathroom
- carrying a fake baby around town like it's a toy
- shooting the signs to make the F word
- parachuting (shooting in the air..somehow i guess they wanted to define the meaning of parachuting)
- and the list goes on and on...

The only thing I can recommend this movie is to increase the sales number to Blu-Ray hahahha.

Shoot'em Up wasn't supposed to be a serious action flick. It was supposed to be more cartoonish. It was entertaining and fun.

I liked The One, not a lot, but enough to pick up the Superbit edition used for cheap. So, assuming I like The One moderately, is War then a definite blind buy, no pun intended? I should add that, without asking for spoilers, I appreciate creative plot twists. I don't care if I can see it coming or not, the important thing is cleverness and creativity. So, considering all of this, do I add this to my order for Sunshine and The Rock for next week?

Yes. The plot twist is damn creative for an action movie. For a well-written novel, it isn't, but this is no well-written novel.

Plus, while the action scenes are sparse (which makes no sense at all to me, since that's what everyone paid to see), the ones that are there are pretty good.

Thanks, at least from me if not from my wallet. I don't need novel quality, the fact that it is beyond what one expects from action flick plots is more than enough to get me interested. My movie tastes match my book tastes. I majored in English and love deep, high minded books, but all through college I usually had a couple of fantasy or sci-fi novels along with a Mack Bolan or Remo Williams novel in my backpack along with the required reading.
