Upscaling Options (PS3 60GB)

I've never been certain about the DVD Upscaler in the PS3. As far as the options, I believe you can choose "Off", "Double Scale", and "Full".

What is the difference between Double Scale and Full? Or in other words, what does Full mean (Full screen perhaps)?

I notice, since I got my newer HDTV a couple of weeks ago, when I pick Double scale, it makes the DVD play in a much smaller area, like in a boxed area, and when I pick full, it is full screen. So, it's not exactly fun watching a movie in a smaller box just because it is set to double scale.

It may be just the movie I was watching (It was from 1997), I will have to test my theory a few more times. I just got "White Noise 2" in the mail, so I will check it out tonight.
