Default Anyone have Sony 46W3000? Thoughts?

I'm almost positive that this is the set I'm going with. With CC adding 10% off to the already $450 that is being taken off I can get this for $2100 out the door. Does anyone have this set and what do you think? Thanks

I have the 40w3000 and its a great TV.

the only issue i have is with the room lights off the black level is poor compared to say the panasonic andpioneer plasmas, but if you watch with the lights on the set delivers a very impressive image.

with Blu Ray, the TV has amazing detail and clarity.

Oh there are some motion issues, ie smearing and like most LCDs motion results in a lose of resolution, again more than a good plasma would.

Just make sure you dont get one with clouding issues from an uneven backlight.

But all round a great TV thats is very good for gaming as well.

This TV as a LCD is pretty good, obviously a KURO & decent panasonic will deliver better blacks, that's because it's plasma & they always a little ahead in that area

The upside with this is that you won't get SCREENBURN, a big worry if you play games a lot or watch things on the TV with images that a static for a long time

This TV in short is amazing, if you can't get the XBR4-5, this is a good trade off anyway, it's got the 1080p/24p playback as well

The TV

If you can wait a couple of months, you might consider holding out for its successor, the KDL-46W4100, which Sony announced at CES. It will be 120Hz with Motionflow, as well as other upgrades over the current model. You'll probably pay more for it though.

Default 40w3000

I own the 40 inch version and it looks amazing. like the other guy said if ya can't afford the xbr4 then this is the way to go, there are only two things that the xbr4 does that this doesn't and it's the 120hz and the upscale sources to 1080p(just ups to 720p) but ya i watch it in my basement and I think it has really good black levels, and colors are crisp and vivid. Just requires a little tweeking out of the box. i tuned my to cnet's reccomended settings for the xbr4 since it's really close to the same and it turned out really nice. definatly a good buy.

I just ordered the 52W3000 from Amazon 2 days ago for $2199 with no tax and free shipping. I think you should consider buying it from Amazon instead.
