Are we talking about Speakers? I did not know that Sony made speakers.
But to be honest, I would not buy either. Go to a local dealer and check out B&W. They make terrific sounding speakers that are excellent quality. B&W offers a full range of products that match your budget. Last edited by coolmilo; 02-07-2008 at 04:57 PM. |

bose am16 kick ass look at those POS speakers you have ive heard those in store and they suck maybe the non-amplified bose speakers might not sound that great but the AM16 rock ive noticed lots of people slamming bose then i see which ones they have and they usually are crappy ones that cant hold a candle to lower end bose speakers so in a nutshell get the AM16 Last edited by Gio; 02-07-2008 at 04:27 PM. |

Sony makes great receivers; however, their speakers and subs aren't the best thing out there. They make great speakers for a small room. I would never go with Bose either, only the headphones, other than that their surround systems aren't so good. I prefer Denon.

I love their headphones and iPod dock; however I feel their surround systems are likely on the same level as Sony. ...although I only own the 321 system, and truly hate it (and the room is small), but have heard their 5.1 system at other places, and their not that amazing. I have a Denon system in the family room, and I feel it does a better job than Bose, plus it has a lot more inputs.

What B&Ws do you have? I'm curious to find someone who has the mini-theater, as I was thinking about getting some for the bedroom but I haven't spent much time with mini-systems, and the dealer didn't have any M1's in when I was auditioning. |

Help us out. Speakers or sound system? Bose are way over rated for speakers. Sony makes good receivers but I would pass on the speakers. As others have said B&W is great and I have some in my house but they're not in the same price range when comparing Sony or Bose speakers.

BOSE all the way, sony audio is not nearly what it should be. However, even though you say price dosnt matter, Bose is WAY to overpriced and you should look into audio deeper and find the brands that are reccomended by audiophiles.

My Bose have served me well. I am gradually replacing them with Klipsch speakers, but have been happy with them for 9+ years now.

Niether makes speakers that get any respect from people who care more about sound than video. Klipsch is one of my favs, but check out KEF and Definitive speakers as well. If you have the money, B&W makes awesome speakers.
That said, if the sound of Bose or Sony makes you happy and falls into your price range, enjoy them and don't look back. |

Bose is not the way to go. They tweak their speakers to sound good to people who dont know much about what they are doing. They are not accurate, and just try to get a spec on them from the company. They wont send them cuz they know they arent good.
