Default Have BR standalones gone up in price after the victory?

I was on another forum (it's a deals forum, mainly for black friday) and some guy who I have had ongoing discussion with for months (He supported HDDVD) is telling everyone that BR players have gone up in price since Toshiba made their announcement. He is basically trying to tell people to buy DVDs because BR are too expensive.

I have not heard of a single price inflation since the news. Yes, BR players are more expensive than HDDVD players, however, the public doesn't seem to mind. If there is any truth to the increase in some price, please let me know because I am interested in this fact.
